I share your dismay, I feel the same only I have rabbit teeth, and no marriage to a decent man can fix them. but I do love this film, and what it really means. You do need to look beneath the pig curse, the rabbit teeth and see who you are and who we all are, are more than our looks. I'm sure you are really just as beautiful/handsome as those in the story. I still distaste my teeth but I don't dislike me :)

It is kinda nice, though, that he went to tell her that he loved without knowing the curse was broken, and was taken aback when he saw her without her pig-nose - uncertain if she was the same girl he loved, until he looked closer.

They would. But her mom wanted a perfect child with a normal nose so she insisted on introducing only blue bloods to Penelope. The blue bloods refused to see past her nose. Their shallowness was the point. And that's why the public loved her after her pics got released but her parents and her then fiance still didn't like her nose.
