Probably one of my top ten riffs, but trying to figure out the rhythm was getting me nuts... now I see it where the trick was: while doing the hammer-on with the left hand on the 4th string James Williamson is not picking that string, but the bass rhythm on the 6th string! Man, what a clever thing to do, reminds me of fingerpickin blues phrasing. .. took me a while to nail it. Your lesson was so useful... thank you very much!

The Stooges! Your channel gets better and better. Thank You. I’ve seen Iggy three times including the tour with David Bowie on keyboards.

by any chance,did Blondie open that show with D.B.?
@mwjd584 жыл бұрын
I saw Iggy on that tour too. Newcastle City Hall, March 1977. Raw Power defined! Captured on the Sister Midnight CD. Support band that night was the Vibrators - a UK pseudopunk band no-one remembers.
@mwjd584 жыл бұрын
@@SirLordHockey I think I saw Blondie supporting Television about the same time as the Iggy Idiot tour with Bowie. I don't remember the support band for Iggy, though.

Very nice playing and very nice sound. There's a guy named Ten Codaka does the bass lines for most Stooges songs a bunch of like music, and he's ridiculously accurate. So if you're a switch-hitter like me, you can check the bass part for this too (it's a really unusual line).

As you say " a lovely riff ", it looks fun to play a I am definitely going to learn it, though I've never followed the stooges even though I really like Iggy as an old man. What I'd mistakenly thought was that you were doing a stooges and a penetration song, ah well, maybe in the future. Excellent tutorial as always. 😎🎸✅

Thanks for the lesson Adrian! 1st year player here and learning and improving on music I'm into makes me excited to practice. A question regarding the low E drone... mine has a tendency to somewhat drown out the other strings by being louder and continuously vibrating. Are you applying less force when strumming it? Palm muting? The more I practice the better it gets, but any other insight would be awesome. Thanks again dude! Cheers!
