WELL DONE on your buoyancy control as well as your line placements/tie-offs!!! I was expecting to see the "TOP DOG" (Snoopy riding atopp the alligator, which represents the Amphibious Force "Gator Navy") in the tile on the deck. THANKS for the tour! I deployed with her in my ARG (Amphibious Ready Group) to the Mediterranean Sea with the U.S. SIXTH Fleet back in the mid-1970s. You can never get enough dives on SPIEGEL GROVE!!! I'll be back!!!!!

Thank you for your great feedback! I do have another (sorta cheesy) video on how to find Snoopy on the Spiegel for those who are interested. It is always interesting to hear about first hand history of this ship. I bet diving the Spiegel after serving on her is a really cool experience. I wish I had more time down there to explore more thoroughly but that's part of the allure I suppose.

Nice tour of 2nd deck port side. I served on her in 78-79, did several deployments including med cruise Jan-June 79

Nice video! Hoping to do this dive myself soon. Glad you can do some penetration with an AL80; what was your bottom time on this? And do you have any wreck training?
@WholeOtherWorldScuba Жыл бұрын
I believe our bottom time was about 40 minutes including 5 minute safety stop. I do have wreck training and would not condone any penetration diving to anyone who has not received the proper training.

Great video would love to do this someday. I am new to scuba -- how much training does it take to safely do wreck penetration diving?
@WholeOtherWorldScuba Жыл бұрын
It takes a good amount of training to do safely. You must have your trim and buoyancy dialed in and be able to maintain that while task loading to operate reels and other safety equipment.
