Penetration testing of one of my new knife designs the CRKT HZ6 tactical knife.

Penetration testing the HZ6 from CRKT through plywood. Wood is quite resistant to penetration so make sure that you grip the knife properly if you are going to do this. Put your thumb over the back of the handle. This handle gives exceptional grip and the blade shapes maximizes both penetration and slashing. I still have and love my original CRKT Hissatsu, James. How would you say this improves on it?

A bit better penetration and slashing, better handle grip. It is slightly shorter at 6.5 ". A bit more compact package.

@@SystemOfStrategy I just watched this HZ6 penetration test and held my breath hoping your hand would not slip! The only reason I never bought a Shinbu Hisshou many years ago was like your other knifes for me it needed a guard to stop my hand slipping, damn adrenaline. After a number of months I choose a Cold Steel OSS which had a wonderful double edge perfect for piercing and to add a worse wound cavity to naturalize the treat quickly as possible, the handle was perfect being Kray-Ex glue like handle with an hour glass that swells up in hand and sub hilt for the quick trigger slash, guard was present unfortunately rubber but it did its job when i most needed it. I then bought the same knife in San Mai 3 aka Damascus Carbon middle with soft steel either side as Carbon has the benefit of keenness of edge and better edge retention unlike a sword with the back being soft to protect the blade the SM3 Is either side to protect the carbon middle from rust and the ugliness of patina!. I still think to this day of buying your Shinbu knife and making a custom with Cold Steels Kray-Ex grippy handle.
