I'm new in the fandom, because I discovered OFF not so long ago. I am french and I confirm that OFF is not very popular in France, whereas it's an huge success abroad ! So strange... I love the dark atmosphere and the tragic ending of the main story. There's a lot of poetry in this game too, a lot of symbolisms too. The batter is very mysterious and it stays open to a lot of interpretations. It's a shame OFF doesn't get all the recognition it deserves, when you realize that Undertale got a LOT of inspiration thanks to OFF. I mean come on : the genocide route during Undertale is taken from the moment the Batter goes back to all the aeras he "purified"... And do you think that Sans looks a lot like the Judge ? Also, the video game "OFF" looks a lot like "Alice in Wonderland", when you goes down a very strange place with a smiling and clever cat... Like the Sheshire Cat ? I'm not the only one to have seen it ?

Welcome to OFF fandom :). I am a French fan too, and the OFF fandom is still alive in 2020! Mainly on Tumblr (for Fanarts, Fancomics and fangames), Tiktok (for Cosplays). But if you want to watch VERY GOOD fan animation, go check "Tan Blaque" on youtube. I have discovered this game in 2018, and I did 2 OFF cosplays in 2019 (Zacharie & Bad Batter) I hope it will boost people to play this game and to join this awesome fandom :). (There is a fan group facebook page about it, and it started to be more active this last months) Yup! The game has more success into international, even to Japan! And fun fact: It's canon that Papyrus from Undertale was inspired by Dedan (from the official Undertale artbook)

I do think Undertale is better than OFF, but I feel like Undertale owes too much of its success to OFF. People discuss Undertale's other various inspirations. But those have little in common aside from a few references. The entire geno route is waaaaay too close to off. Judge addressing the player directly like Flowey at the start, the ending of the geno route being two different options that are horrible, this being the final boss from the small friendly judge character's perspective, the characters telling you to quit constantly, it's a lot of overlap.

I had made a post on this video about 2-3 years ago back in 2020/2021 (idk, can't remember) when I originally discovered OFF from this song, but I wanted to come back after finally fully playing the game to say how incredible the games art and story and all the details were put in were, and how much more respect I have for this song. After finishing the game and relistening to this song I can actually hear the amount of details and sound effects used from the different characters and events and even a bit of the original OST (i think) that are in this song, and I think that makes it really beautiful and nice : ) I also just wanted to come back to say thank you for introducing me to such an incredible experience of a game with this song.

i just want to say that i was heavily into OFF and .flow and yume nikki way back in the day and i used to listen to your songs repeatedly. there's an emotion of madness and tranquility that is etched into my brain and has for years and years. this song showed up in my recommended feed for the first time in i don't know how long and playing it again puts me back, i remember how in love i was with this song. no one else has made songs like this to my knowledge, in this vein and in this level of loyalty to the subject. thank you so much for your contributions to my middle school experience and my adult life, these songs along with many of your personal ones removed from fandom are amazing; extremely textured, vibrant, and striking with their tone. im so happy to have found this song again.

I remember listening to this song right before entering a medically induced fit of profuse sweating and surreal internal pain. So, while this song is really, _really_ good, the experience was so excruciating that this is what i relate to when i hear this song. 10/10 on the actual song, but 4/10 on my part for being stupid enough to listen to a good song before Pain™ (but smart enough to do it anyway, bc it cheered me up really well) So yeah, nice work, Pengo!!!

I personally think that OFF has a deeper meaning than what most people see. If you really think about it hard, most of the messed up problems in OFF are over exaggerated problems that exist in reality. I have some examples of this below. In off, the air is made of smoke. Smoke happens to be a major thing polluting our air. The ocean being made of plastic could be making a reference to the pacific trash dump, which is currently bigger than Texas. The ground being made of metal may be a reference to too many soda cans and foil wrappers being thrown outside. This is all connected to environmental harm. The sugar problem in zone 3 is likely comparing sugar to a drug, which isn’t too far off from the truth (it’s proven to be more addictive than certain types of drugs). If you think about it, the sugar in OFF has a ton of similarities to extreme drugs. What’s with burning bodies to make sugar? If you were to vaporize a human body, and separate the basic molecules in the vapor, you would get some of the same things that make up sugar. If you reconnect these molecules together in the right way, you might actually get a similar substance to sugar. The way sugar is made also serves to make the game more messed up. I have an idea about zone 2, but I’m not certain enough to mention it.
