Not entirely true in most countries in eastern Europe ,,bolszewik" is synonymous to ,,comie'' and ,,mienszewik" (,,Minority" in English) movement had nothing to do with communism it was more of social democracy. And party split before second revolution when lenin was main party leader and stalin was just a terrorist.

They come from the Russian words meaning “minority” and “majority”, the minority was moderate and normally the majority while it was the opposite for the Bolsheviks.
