@macudapeter23842 жыл бұрын
I live in Colorado and saw this Live on the News yesterday and they showed the full video. One officer tried to tell the officer to move her vehicle with the suspect inside, about 3-5 seconds before the train hit the car so no valuable time to move the car. Also when they saw the train coming they all hid, behind their cruisers, and you wanna hear the worst dirtiest part of this that Charlie doesn’t mention? As soon as the car is struck it gets thrown 50 yards and flips 50 times, and that’s a POLICE CRUISER a heavily modified vehicle to be tough, anyway once the train 🚂 hit the 🚔 police cruiser, the very very first thing the Female Officer who made the arrest and put the other women in the back seat, as soon as she sees her police car get hit she SCREAMED “NOOOO NOT MY CAR NOOO” with no disregard for the suspect. In fact 25 seconds later in the full video another officer asks her “wait wasn’t there a suspect in the back of your car” to which she replies “oh my god we have to go to the car”, they call Ems on radio, run to the car and when I tell you it looked crushed by a Boulder it legitimately did, the suspect being so hurt they couldn’t even show it on the Colorado Local News. So yes Charlie all these Cops here are incompetent, the funniest/saddest thing being as you said not one officer had enough intelligence to say “hey maybe you should move just in case a train comes you never know” but nope. And then after the train hit they only cared about the car not the suspect, and The suspect parked her car 10-20 feet in front of the tracks giving enough room for the officer to park behind her and not be on the tracks, still the female officer chose to keep distance and park on the tracks. So yes I saw this live last night and your right Charlie this is sick.
@LurkMelon2 жыл бұрын
The female officer wasn't the one that parked the police cruiser on the train tracks though. It was the male officer Vasquez. The female officer was the one to put the female suspect into the cruiser though so she's still at fault. Fun awful fact: it takes longer to get your cosmetology license then it does to become a police officer
@NateTheGreat3682 жыл бұрын
The average basic certification takes 4 to 6 months. That is just the basic academy training that is required for someone to legally be an officer. Once past that initial phase there is usually another 1 to 6 month field training period where you actually learn better cop stuff from an Field Training Officer. Well run FTO programs have some of the best officers as trainers. Those who have shown consistent maturity, motivation, personal discipline, etc. Rookie cop from beginning to end of Field Training will be given an expanding work load. Once done field training, the new officer should be doing all their own work but are still training and being evaluated for about another 6 to 12 months. This entails the probationary period. In a moderately busy police department it takes about three years before an officer feels fully capable doing most aspects of patrol.

The assumed offence she was in the car over, under no circumstance even comes close to justifying a fraction of the severity of the situation she was in, the incompetence of those involved in putting her in that situation, or the justification of such stupidity. "Free speech" is not a valid arguement when defending such incompetence and lack of accountability within ANY authority position, as doing so literally undermines one of the most important aspects of free speech: holding those with authority accountable for what they do. The moment you have authority over others, you have responsibility far greater than just looking after yourself. Anyone blantantly dumb enough to oppose this statement is a hypocrite if they ever complain about how the authorities treat them when it's them being hurt. If such people are gonna defend police negligence of this degree, they literally have no ground to stand on when it's their rights that are being ignored. "MuH fReE sPeEcH" huh? How about "her right not to be hit by a train because the cops aren't doing their job"?
@TheNwr1 Жыл бұрын
Technically…this could happen even if you haven’t committed a crime. If you’re a suspect, or look like a suspect (like you physically look like them), then the police (whether they have the right to or not) can just pull you over and question you. If the crime is serious enough, they might even take you in, again regardless of if they actually have the right to or not. Like, what are you gonna do? Tell them you’re not the suspect and leave? They could book you on resisting arrest. None of this matters in this situation though. This is at least a manslaughter charge. They need to be in prison for this. At the very least, they cannot be police officers. This is…actually fucking insane, and completely untenable.

(For example, driving 500 miles to steal a family’s goat w/o a warrant bc the daughter who just lost 3 family members grew extremely attached to the goat prior to a county fair where said goat won. So she wanted to keep it and the family offered to pay the $63 the goat was valued at but the fair refused bc the person the goat was going to is a senator and Republican candidate for governor who absolutely HAD to eat that goat. Imagine your job wouldn't let you work for a month while you were under investigation without even being proven guilty yet you'd be bitching. Also the term is paid leave not paid vacation, just because someone says it doesn't make it the correct term. Paid leave is for BEFORE a cop is determined to be guilty of commiting a crime.

this describes someone in this comment section very well. they've been replying to comments saying it's the suspect's fault and they hope this was done out of malice and not stupidity because "criminals deserve it." for one, suspects aren't criminals. how braindead does someone have to be to think "huh, those cops thought there was a chance someone was road raging. I totally understand why they'd cuff them in their car and let a train tear it apart like a rabid dog. makes perfect sense to me, it was all their fault for being accused of something that may or may not have happened" also, I've replied this a few times, but passenger aside, who the fuck gives their employee paid leave after parking a car THEY gave them on train tracks and proceeding to watch it get destroyed ON CAMERA? at night!? as if the rumbling ground and deafening sounds of train horns weren't enough, trains are blindingly bright at night! the mental gymnastics or lack thereof are astounding in any scenario. it was a massive L for everyone involved.

This reminds me of an accident that I was in when I was around 8. We were on a straight empty road for miles and just driving along, then we see a cop car heading our direction but they were on the wrong side (our side) of the road. They were not passing anyone, they were just driving on our side, she ended up causing us to swerve to dodge her and we ended up crashing a sign on the side of the little hill.
