I work at AMC Theaters... So yesterday, we were deep into our second HUGE rush. I SWEAR I was taken back and had to pause for a moment when a guest asked, "Two for Borderlands please" I legit didn't even realize we were showing the movie. NO ONE was seeing it - I had to take like 5 seconds to look on our POS system for the movie, I didn't even know where the button was for it. Mind you, this was our second MASSIVE rush for the day (hours long, people out the door for each one).. ...................and it took almost 5 hours into my shift to sell TWO BORDERLANDS TICKETS. "Is it almost sold out? Will we get okay seats?" They looked almost shocked when I told them "Actually you two are the only guests in there so far".... dude it's literally playing in our biggest auditorium too. It's embarrassing. They looked embarrassed for going to it.

Why did your talk with the actress that played the character in three games end with you deciding to do something totally different? Deeply considered walking out of the theater ten minutes in, but stuck through for the whole feature because friends hadn't figured out that it was going to be so bad. Was in a cataconic state for over half of the movie, and had actual nausea for the rest of the day from the pain that movie caused me. There is actual not a single other movie out there, that is both so, so disappointing, and also so gruesomely horrible in filmography, special effects, casting, scriptwriting, etc. It's the worst movie of the decade if not the century for how badly it did.

Good thing they didn't. Pitchford and Gearbox don’t deserve another penny from Borderlands games after desecrating the lore with Borderlands 3. I mean, imagine if they had made a great movie adaptation, droves of mainstream casuals would’ve flocked to buy the abominable BL3, just like they did with Fallout 4 after that Amazon TV series.

@@XenoCleanserMost non casual borderlands fans care only about the endgame , stuff like raids, collecting legendaries, seraphs, pearls (although the latter 2 rarities weren't present in bl3), optimizing builds etc. I haven't seen any non casual fan complain about the lore/story of bl3, only about its balancing or lack of challenge. Bl3 had a pretty good endgame after its dlcs and patches.

Media companies should start to realize that people want quality films and not just rehashes of their favorite franchises over and over again. I understand why they're using these popular properties, people don't want to waste their money on a movie ticket they're not familiar with and companies can't risk supporting a film that has no previous data of success. But regardless if it is a readaptation or not, it still needs to be a good film. You can't just slap a popular title into a badly made product and call it a day.

To find out that it’s being adapted into a movie, I’m scared it’s going to suffer the same fate as Borderlands. Schlocky, misses the point of the narrative, and will probably look shabby.
