Thank you Aunty Helen, for your openness and storytelling history of the effectiveness and diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in Australia is something we should all take pride in as a nation.

This is a wonderfully succinct, warm, and calm history of our First people. I will pass this on but am still wondering if and how an ordinary Australian like me, can help without it looking disrespectful or paternalistic. Thank you.

This is an excellent overview. Could this KZbin be given to local Frankston and Mornington Peninsula Councils, tourist information offices, art etc galleries, historical organisations, GP surgeries etc. This would contribute to the local community having greater understandings of actual Australian history and forward intents.

Anything for the community. So I don't see why not, try contacting the Liaison Officers. They might be able to put you on the path, to the right people. Good luck. Be safe everyone. I saw Ambulances on fire in the UK. 🖤

Yeah, I know my Aunty would be holding back the tears. Considering, her, my older Uncles and Aunties, had to hide in furniture when the cops would come knocking, cause we were the first Mob to get housing commission, back then, so they wouldn't be taken away. Because we have German in us on Dad's side. Hence my Grandpas beautiful blue eyes. But since my Grandpa was part of the Stolen Generation, he saw them coming from a mile away. Stay safe.

Its well past time that white Australia finally recognize that the traditional original peoples all across this land gained absolutely nothing from colonization.the british and others provided and forced upon first nations people not one thing to positively impact one single soul in any community .it is time to show firstly the utmost respect , to educate white australia about the way in which for hundreds of thousands of years ,the wisdom, the skill,the ability to teach both young and old about how to survive how thrive and inately co exist with the sea the land the sky and all its spiritual and physical inhabitants in ways us as white australians could not and will not comprehend let alone understand.arguably the most intricate and invaluable culture to ever exist.respect,learn,embrace and be proud of our Aboriginal history....

it musta been mind blowing when aborigines first met humans but at least captain cook and the first nations peoples trained them to eat and act like british peoples and now australia lives in harmony with the natives

Hmmm. There was a little misunderstanding at first. 😅. We thought you guys weird ghosts that didn't go to the spiritual world. Cook and his makeup confused us a little. But that's just between us. Lol. Anyways. Stay safe. Things are weird out there.

Australians need to band together, the current state of our culture is diminishing due to the oversaturation of other cultures and beliefs within the cities, which unfortunately seem to be taking priority in changing the country.

28:15 why is it necessary to arks the identity question? Is it because a certain race gets a different treatment because of race? Isn't there a word for that? Shouldn't we all be striving to be treated equally, regardless of race?

The Certain races are the Second Class Citizens. Australian had black and White people Only. The question is asked on every form in WA to count the number of Aboriginals.

6:27 nowhere in the bible does it say that the top of the chain is a 'white' god. If you've been told that - it wasn't by a christian, but rather someone trying to manipulate / fool you.

White people did this to their own, as well. There was a novel written called "Storm Boy", which told the tale of a White Boy who was removed from his own family by the Police, and not allowed to live in a Traditional White Australian Bush way (as a "Bushie"), which was not too different from the Aboriginal Way. Because of this, because "White Aussie Bushie" communities were broken up and their children stolen, or because life was made impossible for them, so that they had to move into town, they have almost died out. My grandparents were "Bushies", and I still live as much as I can as a "Bushie". Unlike Australian Aborigines, our culture is not recognized, and neither is the genocide that was rolled out against us! My family always got on well with the Aborigines, and my brother married an Aboriginal Woman, meaning I have Aboriginal Nieces and Nephews. However, unlike the Aborigines, we have no legal recognition. We are "not allowed to hunt" kangaroos, wallabies and other wildlife, which was traditionally a food source for us, and this ban makes those of us who choose to hunt outlaws, and makes it almost impossible for those of us who choose not to hunt to survive in the Aussie Bush, as our ancestors once did. As a Bushie Woman, I stand with the Aborigines. Your struggle has been my people's struggle, and the same people who have harassed and tormented your people have tormented my people.
@amorlia44884 ай бұрын
Yeah. Okay. I think I get what you are saying. Come on a hunt with us next time. That's what happens 99% of the time, when Dugong hünting lol. Non Indigenous people are invited too. Leave no soldier behind. Like, weren't not going to let you starve or not share our knowledge with you. 😂. Who gave you that impression. Was it Tommy's lot? Be honest. I won't hold it against you. That law is weird. Agreed. But no one takes it seriously. They can't really stop you guys coming with us. Nothing goes to waste. Scientists might need the eyes to study or something. Lol. Anyways. Stay safe.

Such a great introduction. Admittedly I've struggled understanding the perspective of Indigenous Australians. The invasion and forced assimilation is clear however the dissonance in modern times is what confuses me. We need these conversations because Indigenous culture was NOT included in "Australian culture" unlike some other colonized countries. But, I still dont understand the language of "invaders, colonizer, whites" as slurs. History is ugly and humans are hopefully in the early stages beyond the wars, colonization, genocide. Not globally but the conversations are getting louder, and hopefully one day these atrocities no longer exist. Until then, naturally, humans are more like a virus than animals. The survival of the fittest feels crass but remove "who" the fittest is. There have been civilizations in history and now that are not white yet committed genocide and colonization.

THE GAP Different analysts, in different conditions, define gaps differently: in Australia it relates mainly to differences in living standards between Aboriginal People and other members of the community (homeless people having less consideration). In America, a gap is mentioned repeatedly between the rich and the poor (deterioration of the middle class) demonstrated by a large homeless population. Another aspect, mentioned but not seem as seriously is the global gap between the educated and the under educated. Conspiracy advocates see this as being on purpose, whether it is or not, the social incidences look like going beyond what most analysts see or predict. The gaps, in fact, seem to located as a blank space in understanding and feeling. MOST Citizens in the Western World have been kept away from direct conflicts. Incidences are in sight but orientated towards fears. This is summarised here in very few words but pages and pages of narratives would not cover the topics. As a consequences of those existing gaps, authoritarian ruling is facilitated and Religions play mainly a submittive role, NOT REALISING THAT PSYCHOLOGY IS NOT OPPOSITION BUT A PROTESTING SHIELD, and as such does not require to be integrated within Practices. A joint opposition of non-scientific Humanities by both Governments and Religions are a major cause of dysfunctions in the World today, that includes wars and many Social dysfunctions. It has become hard to have a proper balance of power since the Left has been successful at conditioning what appears to be half the population: this makes the present situation very challenging indeed, where today is our future.
