Great vids. How did you decide on getting the 200 size fathom vs the 300?

Because I have a 300 sized Daiwa Lexa 300 already lol.

Ohh man new sub here. I'm looking for a casting setup for Halibut. What would you recommend? I have little knowledge with Halibut fishing, but want something that I can use on the boat and off the shore. Please help!

Awesome, thanks for the sub bro! So when it comes to fishing shore and fishing boats it can be a tough one to decide. I'd say go lexa 300 it's the best of both worlds, not to big for the shore nor to small for the boats, look for a 6.3 ratio or 7.1 and you will cover all basis, I like 40 lb braid to a short flourocarbon leader to make it more universal. The power handle model would be a big plus, u can throw lucky crafts and also throw 1 oz dropshots for the halibut and have more then enough casting ability with a lexa. Also u can use it for a light flyline for bass bonito and cuda and if u fish it just right can definitely handle yellowtail.

@@russdennis7026 Np. Far as rod anything 7'6 to 8ft , me personally I like the 8ft rods rated 15-30 or 20-40 and on the plus side u can use this for fresh water swimbaits when the salt stuff slows down.

@@DudefishhTV So if you had to choose only one gear ratio for Halibut (Swimbaits) what would you go with?
@DudefishhTV6 ай бұрын
@@russdennis7026 If you go with the higher gear ratio you can always wind slower so maybe the 7.1.
