This is the third fierce series reel combo ur2.pl/2314 I've bought and I can't say enough about the value. I work these reels and rods pretty hard because I fish several times a week on Jetties and in the surf, so they can beat up but they've never let me down and are easy to maintain. Great value!

No IPX rating on the Battle III models. If you need "sealing" for your fishing style, check out the Spinfisher VI series [IPX5] or the Slammer III series [IPX6].

True, but what is new are the performance features [like C-n-C machined gears] in a "popular price" [under $150] reel. Basically they have taken a $250-plus reel, and priced it considerably lower.
