im glad i didnt order a rod online. i went into a DICKS SPORTING GOODS with my reel in hand to make sure the rod will hold it. the rampage 6' 6" and 7' wouldnt accept my reel. however the 7'6" rampage was able to accept it so i bought that one. kinda disappointed since i really wanted the 6'6". paired with the 6000 series reel, 80lb braid and 6/0 or 8/0 circle hook i should be able to land some monsters.

You will definitely be able to bring up the largest fish with that outfit. Buying online is fine as long as there is a strong return policy.

@@CrabbinNFishin if this isn’t good enough I’ll use my Penn pursuit 10’ (2 piece rod) with Penn Pursuit4 8000, 80lb braid and 8/0 circle hook. I just prefer one piece rods.

@@turboboy0 that will get you some monsters I am sure. A little wire line and you can go sharking or nab some monster bluefish if they are in your area.
