This sucks, but Beau is talented enough to start for another Power 5 team, and if he has a chance, even a slim chance to make an NFL roster one day in some capacity, which I think he does, he needs to do everything he can to get as much playing time as possible. It’s that simple.

Agree coach handled it great. The problem is for years, coaches would just up and quit before bowl games for a better coaching gig. It's the players who risk career ending injuries not coaches

Part of an article in USA today, I did not know this :He can enter the portal, stay on the Penn State team through its College Football Playoff run and then negotiate with other schools. This has nothing to do with a finite number of scholarships available, and the horror stories (most of them true) of players entering the portal and eventually not finding a home. Pribula is in the portal, and every school knows he’s transferring. If there’s a market for him in the portal, schools will wait to make a decision on a quarterback - the most important position on the field - until after Penn State’s CFP run.

First thing we need to do is stop calling them "Student Athletes." They are professionals and they should be treated as such. So basically coaches and players can do whatever they want for their best interest and everyone needs to understand that is just the way college football is now. If you don't like it, stop watching.

Franklin is right the NCAA is stupid. Simple solution is to move the transfer date after the season is over. Yes a player can transfer in time for the spring semester but might not be able to do that if they have to wait. Franklins bigger issue is he can’t win the big game.

It's a shame he has to leave right now. Isn't SMU's QB staying through playoffs as far as they go. Can't he put in and keep playing for PSU until done with CFP. The system is screwed up and for how big this business is the NCAA should do better. Portal closed until after playoffs.

This is the best decision that Beau could have made. Franklin can't win big games. He talks a big talk but never delivers. This is another example of one of his classic B.S. sessions. If Franklin took his "Responsibility" seriously he would resign and allow the school to hire a coach who can win the big games.

I disagree 100% on Franklin. He does an extraordinary job representing the PSU football program that's far more important than anything else. Yes, he's lost some big games but at the same time, he's won a lot of games. PSU is a top-10 program that just needs to get over the hump which I'm sure they will at some point.
