That would have put a lot of pressure on Penn State due to No timeouts and very little time on the clock. Instead Penn State had two and a half minutes and 1 or 2 timeouts for that last drive.

In many ways that reminded me of when Penn State beat Iowa in 2017 on that last-second TD. Just when you think the Nittany Lions will choke in heartbreaking style they pull off the magic. Tonight was no different. We should be Ohio next week, but the Auburn game is going to be another big test. If we can beat Purdue and Auburn on the road in 2 very tough environments, we have a chance for a special season.

@@skippy675 I don't know. This was their first game with Manny Diaz calling plays. It'll take some time for them to get adjusted to it. Once that happens the defense should be good again. Although the offense really stepped up and made things happen.

Gonna be a long season in Happy Valley, Franklin consistently gets out coached. All the exceptional draft classes and he can't put a ranked team on the field and they struggle to beat mediocre Purdue team. They gave this guy a 10yr extension, nothing like throwing money into a fire.

People looking past the fact that Clifford threw a gift interception when PSU was marching convincingly down the field and swung the game back in Perdue’s favor. I didn’t feel like the game was getting out of hand until that point. Penn State offense needs to focus on not dropping the ball when they’re wide open. Secondary has issues but the defense closed the game out. GG Perdue.

I thought throughout Penn State had the better team. Purdue could move the ball at times, but once the situation dictated predictability...Diaz coached and executed very well, taking away the underneath routes and adding pressure to make the outside routes too risky. Purdue's defense played quite well...except for a number of absolutely terrible 'what is wrapping up' moments. I expected my Boilers to lose this one...tough to lose it in the way that they did...(Argh, still thinking about O'Connell not getting that outside fade enough arm late in the 4th) Good luck Lions!

As a PSU fan I really gotta hand it to Purdue. They've got a really solid QB and a good team. Really all they had to do was commit to the run game a little more and they would have won. Once we got into a defensive setup that was having more success against the pass game, we didn't have to change a thing because they just kept passing. Purdue is going to have a pretty good season this year, they'll learn from this.

They have this Iowa'ish style of beating great teams at home at night. And don't forget this is a Purdue team that finished ranked last season after going 9-3 and returning 17 starters. All in all very good win for PSU. I actually thought we gonna lose this game. Great resiliency and determination from out guys!
