Penn & Teller FOOL US // ALYX HILSHEY [Season 10]

Alyx Hilshey was a featured magician on Penn & Teller: Fool Us Season 10, episode 18.
She performed sleight of hand magic with fragile, buttery, gritty crackers that are 1/4" larger than silver dollars. During rehearsal, one cracker spontaneously shattered. The anxiety of working such moves with such fragile crackers was terrifying to her, and she has not eaten a cracker since. :-)
As a lifelong student of magic she tried to include three subtle homages to three magicians that have influenced her greatly. See if you can spot (or hear) these "Easter Eggs."
Her last words before exiting the stage were to Penn & Teller, to whom she said, "this was the honor of my life." It was an understatement. :-)

how was the finale wicked? she obviously swapped out a fake tub of ice cream for a real one when she went under the stand. her sleights aren't even clean. she just covers one hand with the other. she might as well be covering her hands with a towel.

@@albertlwj the continued showing of the hat means that the initial load is very clean or the gaff is very clever. As for the sleights not being clean? What are you blind? You try doing any of those moves with crackers. That’s what they are supposed to look like. The use of crackers? That is playing on hard mode. Sleights like that rely on delicate movements and clean hands, which crackers are not. Using the crackers ramps the difficult way up. The sleights are very clean, and smooth and practiced. Feel free to armchair magician all you want, but she’s out there doing the real work on a massive stage under pressure and you are commenting from your home on KZbin.

It looks like everything was under the counter or in the side of the hat, We never saw if the ice-cream pulled from the hat was actually a tub or just a flat card, as the magician then went under the counter and maybe swapped the card d for a tub. Good act. I am sure the nice lady was nervous.

No, they can't be bribed. A lot of the show is scripted. Not all of the decisions in what to say were mine. I thought the ice cream bribe was funny. Didn't realize some would think it was a literal attempt at bribing.

I use to do stuff like this for kids. And never have I been exposed when cake or cuccies had disappeared. No matter how much I've had to show empty pockets and nothing up the sleeves. With my dog by my side that was.
