A fabulous 10 minutes of escape - to a better time.

Cheers Dave for your warm and welcoming video. I enjoyed it. I plan to visit Pennan and other Local Hero filming locations, perhaps in 2025. I've just returned from gorgeous New Zealand, so not this year in Scotland, but hopefully next. I was just reading a Facebook page from the couple that ran The Pennan Inn recently, which featured a lovely place to stay and welcomed tourists (like me) who are interested in the beauty of the Scottish coast and Northern Lights. I believe from their website that unfortunately I may have missed a chance to visit with the inn's current proprietors, but wishing them well, I hope the inn in Pennan will be available for visitors again someday.

You could not be more welcome pal. The Inn has always been changing hands quite regularly. As long as you only pay a small deposit in advance, it is always worth a visit & is a fabulous place to stay in any weather. Good luck. Let us know how your visit goes.

@@davestewart6671 I first became aware of this beautiful village in the mid eighties after seeing Bill Forsyth's marvellous feature "Local Hero" .Since then it's been on my bucket list to visit the place but decided against having heard that locals were sick of visitors bombarding the place. The nearest I got to it was Port Soy in the early nineties when I lived in Fort William.

@@alanscott.online I spent a decade in Aberdeen but would swap that place for the Fort 100 times over! I agree a lot that locals get sick of tourists so well done staying away.
