I have been collecting pennies for 60 years but not doing anything about it until I found a book of 1959 pennies to 1974 every one of them. I am finding all kinds of good stuff that I did not pay any attention to for 60 years. I cannot even go to sleep now because of all the coins I find. I found 100 64 Kennedys and they must have come from a set because they are beautiful and I have a huge bag of quarters all silver. I am a little dizzy right now finding all this stuff. Grading is very expensive, very subjective, and most of the time you will be bitterly disappointed by the grade you get,coin collecting is a great hobby,it brings out the child in you,treasure hunting,if your in coincollecting for any reason other than a hobby,you are in the wrong hobby

I’ve actually saved all of my 1959 pennies, but I didn’t know they could be worth as much as revealed in this video, wow! I was also surprised to find out it took over fifty years for the top grade D to come out and be revealed! I don’t have any dcam 1959’s at all, but I will keep searching for some. The mule coins though, those would be life changing to find for me! 👍

I knew they are special do to being first year of the memorial reverse. But didn't know that some could be worth that much. But with so many errors gives you a better chance of finding one.

Combing through my first box of penny rolls and I found a 59 D in maybe lower 60 grade or high circulated grade. My magpie brain said "oooo, old and shiney" and plopped it into the "neat" section. So much dopemine from such little tokens. 😂

Yes if you want to auction it then it should be graded. If you don't want to open the set then just keep on holding on it. 10 years down the road the mint sets will be worth more to collectors searching for the coins.

Even though it was a 20 minute video. You know the part in friends where ross and Monica's mom on Thanksgiving got all that information in 30 seconds.. yeah that's how i feel right now!! That is a lot of information on one coin. I love the transition of the wheat cent to the memorial back. I did not know about any of the wrong planchet, or that they were worth so much money.. but i did know about trying to find one in high grades, for my book and one day sell it with all pristine cents.

I was born in 1959 what a great year! The first year of the new design but I didn't know how valuable some of them are. thanks for the heads up I will be on the lookout for the special ones. I found a silver colored one that I think must have been zinc plated or something it's pretty cool.

Love the 59's and I have a UNC roll my grandpa gave me years ago. When I did a bit of research, I thought there was also a DDR on the 1959 P pennies? 4 on business strikes, and 6 on the 1959 P Proofs....according to variety vista? Unless I misunderstood what I was reading....

MS67+ is not a hard grade? Yet only 4 have been graded by PCGS as such. How many 67+ coins have you submitted? Making people think their everyday pocket change can be worth lots of money is misinformation and doesn’t help the hobby at all.

JB my Aunt and Uncle left me these pennies among others along with dollars half dollars things like this but I have quit a few in perfect condition my uncle was an avid collector of coins, baseball cards, stamps and old, old guns oh gosh if you could see these plus the 1969S and 1969Ds he left me my goodness. I would say definitely on the 1959s 69 grade maybe a 70 even but I wished you would comment back I have signed up with Heritage Auction and need to get these graded as to have the bar code scanned even tho it would say they should be able to grade there but I still have to scan the bar code can you maybe give me some pointers here I need to sell some my daughter is having another grandbaby a precious girl this time I need to add an additional room to her house and pack it full HELP PLEASE. All 1959's All RED i guess lol It's kind of confusing to me, they look like the color shown but a little dirty with the circle marks around them though. Do you think i might have something? I've always felt that the transition coins, like the 1959 cent, are worth keeping. I only collect pennies and I am very surprised to learn of the value for some of the 1959 pennies. Speaking of Dimes being struck by the US mint for other countries. In 1968 the Philadelphia Mint Struck some 10c Dimes For the neighbors to the north and the only way to spot the the difference.. is the Denticles the run on the outside diameter of the coin. US has a Square or Rectangular bottom like ever US coin, While the Canadian Struck one has "VVVV" once you see it..you'll never forget the shape.

I have a proof Philadelphia 1959 penny that was struck uneven in thickness on one side, almost 2x thicker than a normal penny. It has a line halfway through the edge and a black mark over the AMERICA on the reverse.

Today I found a 1959D misprinted coin sitting in my wife's car, I am trying to figure out which penny it is. Hopefully I can figure out what it's worth, naturally it's what someone else is will to pay for such a coin. Tomorrow I am taking it to a local coin shop to have it x-rayed. This penny has the memorial design with the small "o" in "oF" and it has the "L" in "Liberty" on the very left edge of the penny like it was mis-struck and goes all the way to the left edge. Another interesting thing about this penny is that it doesn't look old but is more red in color .

I have 5000 1959 pennies from mint bag that was unopened , that I put in holder's, two books volumes with gloved hand . I didn't Check them but there are alot of really deep reds. I did the same with a bag of 1964 out of 5000 I fond a blank . The cool thing is I know the blank is a 1964 P because I took it out of a unopened 1964 mint bag , a lot of really nice red's none of them checked yet . Is a collection like that interesting ?

When people or company-grade coins it's based on an opinion or a fact that it has been compared to the original coin? How do we know that? I want to see a live video of how they grade coins!
