Makes you wonder what would happen if you built a Vette that was as light as possible, i'm talking about a 100% tear down and scrutinizing each and every peace. Then went all out on a motor, trans and electronics. I bet you could remove a lot of weight just from making the fiberglass thinner and replacing steel items with aluminum. It's amazing how fast the cars are now but I have always worked on reducing the weight of a race car it's just free power and it also helps to reduce breakage by reducing the stress on parts. Loved the video!

Awesome 1/4 mile times in the Vette. Well done. Can you please do a vid sometime on the Vettes talking about any chassis mods, rear end mods. Over the years the Vette rear end hasn’t had a great reputation for being very strong. What are some of mods you guys are doing to these cars to keep them in one piece ? Cheers.

@@HorsepowerDepot ....I asked the same thing....OK👍....fitting in the 12 bolt ring gear is a lot of work on a Corvette IRS....Nice to know it will hold up. Henry's Machine in Los Angeles first did those 12 bolt conversions, then Tom's Differential...but, Henry's also did a Dana 60 IRS center section, I know a guy with a 9 second 66 Big Block Corvette that used one....Those Danas are hard to find!

Shelby cobras can’t join. Has to be a factory production car with a warranty. Cars sent to off site assembly plants aren’t allowed. Hate to break it to you but a LS6 Chevelle isn’t going to win any races or set any records. The chevelle’s only benefit is a factory 4 link.

I'd be interested in knowing what you guys run for an IRS? 12Bolt center or Dana 60? I've seen some of those, I build mine with whats called a "Super 10" parts kit from Tom's Differentials+Steel Cap with 1/2UNC bolts on the drivers side, its basically a bigger cross shaft and spider grear out of a later 8.5" 10 bolt rear and solid clutch packs with 100lb Posi Springs.

Who told you that? If by "slippery" you mean has a low cD I'd like to see your source. The world most aerodynamic (or "slippery") vehicle is a Mercedes EQS at .20. A 1969 Corvette is probably closer to .50 which is pretty terrible. There is actual data online showing the '78 Corvette body kit lowered the cD from 0.503 to 0.443. For comparison a Mercedes G-Wagon is .54 lol and a C6 coupe is .286. It might look like a naked model with a sheet draped over her body but there's nothing aerodynamic about a '69 Corvette.

I'm not going to read the comments, but I just bet someone will bray and shriek about how it's better than a Hellcat. They'll be doing that for DECADES, I bet.

What kind of rear differential is he running in the red corvette? Beefed up stock 12 bolt IRS or something else? Also I bet the distance from the engine to the diff in the corvette is much shorter than in the camaro which may give it an advantage?

amazing ... bone stock looking 68 corvette "pulling the front end 4-5" bad to the bone 👍- maybe the tranny has been the problem with the camaro the whole time ? Good Luck

What the hell are you guys doing to these cars to make them run this hard??? Is this done with stock parts? I noticed stock intake & exhaust manifolds...Years ago I raced a 67 RS/SS 396 Camaro(2"headers,ridiculous cam,850dp and MSD 6AL,M-22 and 4.56's and Lakewood traction bars w/9.5" slicks).I was very happy to go mid 11's@ 116-118mph..11.51 best. How are you going over 2 seconds and 30mph faster??? With stock(appearing) cars no less! Some kind of voodoo or what?

I was flipping through my video's here and I thought I saw more than just a driveshaft breaking but also a tail housing or something? Then you swapped out the engine to the Corvette? That transmission breaking or rather on the verge of breaking would rob you of a lot of power.
