This is what happens when you trust religious people, and when you allow your baby out of your sight for even a thousandth of a second. I don't say that out of lack of empathy for what these women and children went through, but out of stating cold, hard FACT that is a WARNING going forward, to ALL humanity. Trust no religion. Keep your baby in your own arms at all times. Don't even hand your baby over to a nurse after birthing it in a hospital. It will literally be the last time you see your baby.

Did the Catholic Church do the same thing with the babies of unwed mothers in England? There’s a softly whispered story in my family that my paternal aunt gave birth to twins out of wedlock in the 1960s, and that the twins (my cousins) were given up for adoption.
