My first car was a 1966 Impala. I bought it in 1978 when I was 15. It was worn out but had a new paint job. It smoked and used oil but wasn’t bad for $375. 👍

Great looking car. Full size family sedan that has everything the family needs. Looks good, affordable for most all, and quality built. Chevy. The backbone of GM.

Ya, I had one of those 66s when I was 18, in 1983. Had to buy it using student loans thanks to Bethlehem steel closing by then and me being in college as a result of no jobs. I saw the chain on there and in the process of swapping engines, didnt put it back on. Also the motor mounts were of the design where 2 layers of steel only had the rubber between the steel plates holding the engine to the frame. As a result of the broken motor mount, I was heading up a friend of mines long driveway and wasnt quite done making my turn from the street, when I hit the gas a little bit, it went wide open and I knocked a couple rungs off the fence after making contact. I didnt know it was a recall that put the chain there, I thought it was some goofy previous owner.

How did they determine this was the only remaining '66 from Lordstown? I understood many of the Chevrolet production records were destroyed around 1969...

I know, I'd say that's unlikely that's the only 66 left from that plant. There are others around,

I would doubt that many records were destroyed.

GM wont buy that car and display it, because it would make their current models look like crap.Very Nice car and BTW. that's the 1st time ive ever seen skirts.Those are very rare indeed.

I agree, imagine if they found a Vega? They were built there too.

'60's Chevy's are exotic too, despite I grew up knowing the '70's models. Today's mangled disfigures totally stink.

Victoria Louden it’s already happened to me here in Janesville, it was the oldest plant, now it’s just a front wall remaining and a smoke stack with piles and piles of steel it makes me want to cry driving past it. I wish my dad would have transferred to another plant.

Now you need to see if you can find a Vega! Or maybe a Monza.

green house gas
@user-Dr.
@user-Dr. Жыл бұрын
Actually, they don't produce a greenhouse gas, that's the big lie, they produce co2, not a greenhouse gas and constantly and immediately turned to oxygen buy plant life, that is why today co2 levels are perfect, electric cars are loaded with very toxic chemicals that our planet cannot deal with in an efficient manner, an electric is 11 times dirtier to the environment, also they don't work, like if we had replaced the horse with a rat, they have their own little nitch, they will never replace what we have, how much damage do you think this car has caused to the environment with only a few miles on it?
