If your on Humana and been on Medicare several years and younger (63) are supplements compatible with Human? Second, is my open enrollment in November subject to underwriting?

Treyson, great questions. Do you have a Medicare Advantage Plan with Humana? Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C of Medicare) are not compatible with Medicare Supplement Plans. Medicare Part D Rx Plans (which Humana also offers) along with original Medicare ARE compatible with Medicare Supplement Plans like Plan F and Plan G. The Annual Election Period in the fall from Oct. 15th - Dec. 7th is for Medicare Advantage and Part D Rx plans only. You will have to go through medical underwriting to get a Medicare Supplement Plan if you've been on Medicare for more than 6 months. However - when you turn 65 in a couple years you will have a NEW "Medicare Supplement open enrollment" period where you can get any Medicare Supplement Plan you want with no medical underwriting. Abt Insurance Agency it's a Humana PPO choice with Rx, vision and dental. Very limited now on in network than it was 3-4 years ago. I'm wondering if I'm better off with regular Medicare with addons and a medi gap G

Another possibility . Can I dump Humana and go with reg Medicare and get a Rx , vision and dental add on without new underwriting? Main concern is lack of choices I'm my area

Medicare Supplement Plans are great in that you can visit any provider you choose, there are no networks. And Plan G covers 100% of your Medicare A and B charges after you've met the annual $183 Part B deductible so you pay very little out of pocket. Plan G is available in PA for folks under age 65 on Medicare. If you have a Humana Choice PPO Medicare Advantage Plan now, you can get a Plan G either: 1. At the end of the year by going back onto original Medicare - BUT you'll have to "health qualify" to be eligible. or 2. When you turn 65, and you do not have to "health qualify".
