Not on the floor on a table top. Some were used as rugs in the early days. I use mine as table mats.

very good tutorial. I want to attempt to make a penny rug. I think I can do it based on your tutorial. I'm also interesting in embroidering on felt. Do you happen to have a tutorial for that?
