Leoanrd was so whipped and a simp for Penny when be met several other women who would have been perfect for him, but Leoanrd had no trouble standing up to Sheldon and complaining about how awful he was to him but when Penny was awful to him in ways similar to and worse than Sheldon, Leonard just took it from her because he just wanted to get laid.

Um...they made an insanely good point. Leonard is massively insecure generally but mostly when it comes to his relationship with Penny. Leonard's whole thing is that he's punching above his weight so he's kind of on a forever mission to turn Penny against him so that he feels vindicated in his inferiority complex when she eventually breaks up with him.
