Love how you did the background on the cardinal card extend further out on the right side and did just a bit on the left side. And when you applied the toffee crunch over the top part of the birch tree, it just made it pop. So many ideas to remember, good thing we can go back and watch the You-tubes over and over again. Thanks again for sharing...I like sentimental Christmas cards the best...the ones that give a verse that truly tells the meaning of Christmas. Joy

loved this even a year later 😂. I had just bought my first edger. I live watching you paint/watercolor. Im in a trance. Ive done this many times throughout the last twenty four years of cardmaking, watching you, kristina werner, sandy allnock, nicole spohr, etc. because of this I’ve acquired a stack of different watercolor paper three sets of watercorlor paints, BESIDES my 100 dye ink pads from five companies! this part is more frustrating than trying to get good at watercoloring! Everyone has their own preferences for both. My papers include: Ranger 118 weight distress distress, watercolor card stock, strathmore Bristol smooth surface 100 lb, bee paper company 140 lb cold press watercolor natural white, Canson arches cold pressed 140 lb watrcolor paper, and finally Canson mixed media 98 lb which feels much more flexible than the strathmore Bristol smooth only two pounds less weight. I dont get good results, and get annoyed at myself either too much water or not enough water. I have professional brushes in so many sizes from Blick. I have tried amalgam inks for no line coloring, and many soft tans and grays recommended by others. I just got the toffee crunch today. Now I want to understand the paper choice and what kind of pens are waterproof that you used for bird’s eyes. I have two brands alcohol markers and copic very fine detail black liners and markers. HELP ME make sense of all this please! I do this to relax and forget about work stress but then I get stressed overwhelmed by product options and not being able to do it when I attempt to. 😢
@PennyBlackInc19 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and for your comment. My best advice is to spend time painting without any expectation about the finished product. Pick one paper and paint and use only that one for a while- limit your choices. The more time you spend painting, no matter what paper and type of watercolor paper, the happier you will be with your results. Maybe even try stamping the same image three times and paint it three times (or more). Each time it will get more and more relaxing. I've found my personal favorites for paper and paints and I just stick with those. I do share more info in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJ-yo3l_q8tjjbcfeature=shared, but my best advice is that the more you paint and get comfortable with a small selection of paints/brushes/paper, the more relaxing and positive it will be. :)
