Her speed is incredible along with her acting ability. I like how her skating is some jumps with absolutely beautiful skating steps. I'm not fond of how figure skating is becoming all about the jumps now.

These performances always bring a tear to my eye. So stunning, so incredible, and yet so much to come for her. I remember somewhere online, Gracie saying that in hinds sight she relies Heavily on winning for acceptance from the public and based a lot of her worth on her ability to win. Amazing and incredibly sad all at the same time.

She is amazing! She was the best answer to Kwan during this era (which we needed). I cannot express enough how gorgeous of a skater Ashley was/is.

I feel like she is the Last of a era. Where beauty and breath was brought into the choreo. Unfortunately (imo) it has become too much, there’s no room for the audience to smile

why the hell are the commentators going on about how this might be her last season? she's said many times she's going all the way to the olympics in 2018 and why would she quit halfway through to that..... so uninformed lol
@justynazokiewska82238 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure that they were thinking about last competition of 2015/16 season to be honest
@sincantations8 жыл бұрын
well they said "if this is going to be her last season, and this is her last performance in international competition..."
@hyacinthoides7 жыл бұрын
ashley has said loads of times that this was her season to make it or break it etc so it's not hard to assume that if she didn't do well at this championships that it would never happen
@memom2227 Жыл бұрын
@@hyacinthoides That's what I remember too. She had goals and a World medal was her motivation here, and I have a hunch that because of her outspokenness that she was not a USFS fave who seemed to want a stick thin barbie doll in Gracie. This silver medal gave her the motivation to go on for two more years. I'm glad she had this moment. It's electric. If you are a performer you would live on this one performance for the rest of your life. Doesn't get any better. Great job, Ashley. Always been a huge fan.

morena martinez Yes, Ashley was skating to music from the movie, “Moulin Rouge!”, which includes covers of famous songs from different music genres. It’s a great soundtrack that’s used a lot in figure skating.

Anyone else noticed he said “loop” instead of “half loop” if it was a loop it would be impossible to put a Sal on the end
@Sephyrism4 жыл бұрын
Half loops in the middle of a 3 jump combo (what we call "euler" these days) counted as full loops back then.
@Juice_Lover1232 жыл бұрын
Half loops literally were full loops. The whole point of the jump was to switch to the other foot to go into a salchow or flip. I'm not sure why they ever called them "half loop" when they were a full rotation jump. But now they're eulers to squash any debate. Lol

Her jumps are ur :/
@heatherramsey91902 жыл бұрын
I would have given her third on the podium. She almost fell out on one of her jumping passes so I think silver was being a bit generous. Considering her age, she needs to be competing at an optimum level above all the others - For me, this program was good but those mistakes at her age of athletic maturity should not have happened. And you have to keep in mind this is at Worlds where there are great great high-level skaters. Both personally and objectively, I think it was unfair she got second place. I love watching her performances but the focus and accuracy came up short for her to have wound up as a silver medalist. I hate home advantages. Just call it right down the middle and know it is what it is. Popular thought and opinion never matter - Unless you're wanting to inflate a final score a bit overmuch . She is still inspirational but I felt there were areas where she was just off the mark. All in all she is one of my favorite skaters, but I have to be honest that this wasn't worthy of a second-frontrunner position - More like third.

Except she was also under scored in the short. Her short was without errors and was very well delivered.
