I had a house for us to live in on a third acre of land and I also had a lil one room house on a separate quarter acre of land. Daughters were 14 and 11. My son was only 7. I went from putting them to bed every night and walking them up for school during the week. Then one day, it was all over and gone. My high school sweetheart left and took from my life what I once thought and believed was my only reason for walking up and living this life. The rude awakening came when I let the pain push me out of my mind and I let myself fall to the mercy of drinks and drugs. My oldest daughter saw me in my misery and opened my eyes with her crying, telling me that she was and always will need ME as her father. Kids are not completely mentally and emotionally developed or mature enough to understand everything that goes on, but their minds and hearts are clean and pure. And with time they make sense or of all of our shortcomings. Trust me brother, it's been over 5 years, but I'm sure glad to be back in their lives in a meaningful way. John Lennon said......
