Great video, thank you for the help!! I haven't spent much time around diesels but I've got a lot of experience building/tuning rusty Hondas. I recommend grabbing a cheap torque wrench and breaker bar for the future (maybe you already have, almost 3 years ago lol). Maybe ~$60 USD for a cheap set. The breaker bar is worth it's weight in gold when you're working on rusty, stubborn engines. Again, thank you for the video! It'll come in handy this weekend!

This anode should be checked every 6 months and replaced every year. I was a bit shocked to hear that 13 years had passed without replacement. Engine replacement is so much more expensive than a simple anode….

Won't it cause galvanic corrosion of the anode if you put copper paste directly on the anode?

I hadn't thought about that, but yes you could be right. Time for me to remove again and check, thanks for the feedback

IS your engine being cooled by salt water or fresh lake water ? I wonder if will be beneficial to install a closed cooled system or will be ok to use it as is on salt water. Info will be greatly appreciated Thank you

Ours has spent 35 years being operated in saltwater. There is a VP freshwater cooling kit. You will need to sell a kidney to buy it, if you can find someone with one for sale. The raw water engine is simple enough, no need to complicate things you don't need.

most plugs are square Use a 12 point socket on a square plug.

Are you sure you are in the right hole? The zinc is usually around the corner
