Thanks for watching kino! I'm going to try and do some more soon- been busy because February was when I bought FTL (obsessed!), and this month I got StarCraft 2 expansion, and I'm going to PAX East in a week. So it's been quite busy. I'm editing when I have time! I have a lot more games I want to spread. : D

Thanks for the advice. I'll admit, we're not very good (empirically) at any of the games we play. We all have varying levels of enthusiasm for all of the games we make videos for, but I personally wanted to solve the problem of spreading games to people who may be intimidated with games. As a starting off point, I think my videos can help newer players or those who don't know how to play. We would need users like you to make the "expert" content. Hence this is a tutorial.

A more interesting way that me and my friend play is we are unable to rotate the same square as we place a marble in. It makes misdirection and subtlety a key factor in our games. just a thought.

That was a slip, I meant, Quarto not Quoridor as I know you have reviewed it. I look forward to your review of Pente and XiangQi. However, I think it is best to first do reviews of board games that are not even done on KZbin as it would create more interest for those looking for a quick tutorial of games they have not yet played but are interested in. I did some search and a few of the ones I mentioned already have a "How To Play" video on KZbin.

I love this game but always think a rule should be that you can't move the section your opponent has just moved.

I’ve never played this game, but I’m gonna give it a try. Looks interesting and fun. Kinda the games I like. Now what if there’s a scenario where I rotate to win, but at the same time by rotating I cause my opponent to get 5 in a row as well. Who wins then? Also idk if that ever happens, but what if the whole board gets filled with balls? Is it a draw then, or do just all turns then consist only of rotating? And then 3rd question, what if scenario above^ happens, and every turn is just a rotate, and my opponent decided to b a ditz and just keeps rotating my block back to where I rotated it from, and game never ends. Any rules against that. A lot of questions! Thanks for the tutorial. Seems like a cool game
@krazee_aznnn4 жыл бұрын
Hey, it's been a long time since I looked at the rules, but I think... 1. In the official rules, in this situation, your opponent would win first before you win. So you are incentivized to win alone, otherwise you give victory to your opponent instead. 2. Yeah, complete draws are possible. I would say after you are out of balls, go a few round of rotations only. If no one has won by then (or if rotations repeat), then it's a legit draw. 3. I mean, if undoing rotation is the only way to prevent loss, then it's the only thing that they can do. I'd say call it a draw at that point. You're welcome for the tutorial! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Thanks for rhis video. I do not understan when to tap on the cuadrant or rotate instead. Please let me know.
@krazee_aznnn8 жыл бұрын
+Kat Carabaggio You're welcome. Thank you for watching! In the rules, you are required to rotate a quadrant after each marble placement. However, by symmetry, when you rotate a quadrant with no marbles on it or a center marble on it, it will be in the exact same state. So we tap the quadrant to indicate that we are "rotating" that one, but it will end up in the same actual state. So we just save the effort of rotating it.

Have you guys found any new strategies ever since this last video. And if so can you please show us??
@krazee_aznnn9 жыл бұрын
Sorry, we have not. I pretty much employ these general same strategies all the time. They work fine for me most of the time. Also, since Pentago is strongly solved, you could try and remember the sequence of moves for a perfect game following the ridiculous algorithms: perfect-pentago.net/details.html If you are interested in more advanced play for Pentago, this might be your best shot- as any other "strategies" are purely heuristics because I completely didn't understand the path taken with the 100% win while going first algorithms. Good luck and enjoy!

hello. do you know where I can get these games? I'm looking for pentago xl. it's been hard looking for it on the net. any help will be appreciated lol
@krazee_aznnn7 жыл бұрын
Hello. I mean, I got it at my local Target or Barnes and Noble. I think you'll be hard pressed to find Pentago XL, because that is the older version. The closest you can find now will probably be Pentago Multi-Player, which I see one entry on eBay and one entry in Amazon right now.

But from your list, I have Pente and XiangQi. I want to get Khet. I already have one for Quoridor up on my channel.

Yeah, I really like discussing strategy. Gigamic has a bunch of different games that I want to go over: Gyges, Inside, Quixo. A lot of the games I have are what I plan on going through in the future. I'm also Lukerson59 on boardgamegeek if you want to look at my game collection.

Believe it, or believe it not, I actually bought this game after seeing it reviewed in a porno mag! (Contractual obligation-I'm a bloke). After playing it a couple of times I must confess I was a little underwhelmed. But after seeing this strategy guide I might give it another go. Incidentally there are larger boards available. Can't remember the sizes precisely but they're something like 7x7 and 9x9. I think they would probably be beyond me!

dark lord I think it's an interesting "calm before the storm"... however if you enforce rotation only on quadrants with marbles, it would potentially change the dynamic of early game strategy quite differently. That would be an additional segment to this video!

At 3:13 it's a pass go, but that quadrant was not actually symmetrical; should have required a turn of the board. Interesting game though. I think this might be the next in my collection, but tonight I picked up Tzaar :D Thanks for helping actually figure out WAY more than what's described on Amazon.

There was an empty quadrant. That one could have been turned. It it not required to turn the same quadrant that you play your marble in. Anyway, thanks for watching! Glad it helped!

Nam Ngo I think the confusion lies when you tapped on a quadrant with symmetry as a pass turn, so you didn't tap on the empty one
