great vid, thanks. I like the low power input. you could also replace the table with a swirl filter to gather solids.

I use to cycle large aquariums with a few beers and a few Molly fish. Lol. Never had any problems. Nature finds a way.

I just saw a video from Milwaukee which greenhouse plantings compliment this set up. Makes sense since the plants use what the fish give off.

What was the white crystals you were putting in from a card board box at 6:06 minutes of the video? Give us the detail in sub titles please...

I would like to know if there is a non profit foundation that educates the public on the ins and outs of aquaponics, system design, overhead ect. I have found that most if not all of the aquaponics people are into seminars and equipment sales. So the old saying that you can make more money telling people how to make money, instead of going out and making the money yourself is true.

I would say this one is the BEST of the video presentation from any of such RAS or Indoor videos. truly the simple and awesome from you. Can you help us to know the Shrimp/Prawns Indoor culture system? Thank you for the video and advance thanks for the reply to come from you :)
@CivicSiR8411 жыл бұрын
Good video, but when washing the filter and filter media don't use tap water. The chlorine will kill the beneficial bacterias. Rinse the filter pad in the old tank water to clean away excess waste. Never completely clean the filter and filter media because the bacterias live in them. I've cycled a 29 gallon fish tank and never completely clean my filter and filter media. In addition, you would need to use water conditioners to get rid of any heavy metals.

have you guys thought of making a aquaponics version of this? maybe some sort of add on kit?

I am also looking for that! :) can you share if you have know one such thing? thanks in advance.
@MakoyUnggoy9 жыл бұрын
How come you were just rinsing out the foam pad directly with tap water? I had always been told to rinse it out in a bucket of the tank water so the bacteria that is on the pad doesn't die off?
@PentairAES9 жыл бұрын
Makoy Unggoy The filter pad is being used for mechanical filtration, removal of solids. The benefecial bacteria is located in the next stage of filtration of the Mini Fish Farm. The LSB, low space bioreactor.
@tiagolopes55048 жыл бұрын
The benefecial bacteria are in every place they can occupy, including the foam pad, and that is why you should rinse it with tank water, to avoid destabilizing the equilibrium between ammonia produced and the bacteria to handle it.

What happens if the pump fails?
@cooolone4u3 жыл бұрын
@@kaziguljar7313 , as per the system is concerned, the water level in the tank and in the flush tank becomes EQUAL and than stops flowing from tank to flush tank becoz there is no more gravity (no Height difference) between tank and flush tank.
