I just got a small assortment of gel pens, that black paper journal would be perfect. Love your zentangle drawing.

Wow how fun getting all your books! Thank for your advice on the watercolors. I'm using my Turner WC right now but I believe I'm just going to get some Daniel Smith . But I really appreciate your your advice❣👍🏻

I just received my small Pentalic, like the first one you reviewed. It looks and feels so luxurious! And I am proud to learn it's made in my state. Cannot wait to try it!

I think your concern regarding the sticking first page and the glue line is because that first page is actually the end paper. So many hard bound books have the end paper stick to the actual first page to reinforce its attachment to the cover. Check out some books in your bookcase and you will see what I mean. Some even have two title pages because of this. I wouldn't even fold it and just keep it blank or as a title page. Hope this helps! Love Pentalic paper. I did not know they are made in Oregon!

A nice little (or, rather, not-so-little) selection of sketchbooks - thanks for sharing with us. I bought a couple of sketchbooks just after Christmas (Strathmore 8.5" x 3.5" 400 series and a small Global Arts 3.5" x 5.5") but I'm suffering with that common affliction, 'newsketchbookitis' and haven't laid pen or brush on them yet. Guess I just need to take a deep breath and jump in there. Apparently once that first page is marked, everyone finds that their 'newsketchbookitis' is instantly cured and there's no problem setting about the subsequent pages. :-) Anyway, my red light is flashing to warn me I'm starting to ramble on, so I'll just say thank you again; we all appreciate you putting out these videos for us, especially when we know you've not been feeling too well recently. All the best, Brian.

Thanks Sharon - yes, I think I need to just make some kind of mark on page 1 then all of a sudden they aren't precious new books any more, they're just plain old work-a-day ordinary sketchbooks. My main interest is watercolour painting and I use watercolour blocks on a table easel for that. But I've seen so much on urban sketching recently (your own channel, Liz Steel, Teoh Yi Chie etc) and it seems like a fun aspect of drawing and painting and can be as simple or complex as time allows. So I just got a couple of sketchbooks to get me going - the little 3.5" x 5.5 Global Arts book is really just to slip in my back pocket for when I take our dog for a walk and will be handy when I take my usual 5 minute break to sit in the middle of our walks.. Like so many who've taken up painting/sketching I have some mobility problems, fortunately not too bad. I've had scoliosis all my life and my spine is a regular and 'delightful' (not!) source of pain if I walk too far and I've recently developed a knee problem that is assisting the scoliosis in bringing my horizons closer and closer. I can still just about get round the store and can manage the short walk with the dog, but much more than that and I'm struggling a bit. But ... I'm still waking every morning and get to smell the coffee every day and there's plenty that don't get to do that, so I'm not complaining :-) Anyway, this autobiography should have had a better editor, it's gone on far too long LOL I shall take your advice and put something (even if it's only my name and phone number) in the sketchbooks just to break the seal. Regards, Brian.

Sharon, Just an FYI both my Pentalic Aqua journals lost their ribbon markers shortly after purchasing without much use. I guess the glue is not strong enough. Just thought you should know. Fran

Hey Sharon, Thanks so much. I was completely surprised when I was holding it in my hand NOT attached to my sketchbook. No I haven't let them know; would mean a lot if you did. Is it snowing there? Fran

I might do my Pentalic Nature Sketch Sketchbook tour tomorrow or Wednesday. I just got the Traveler a few weeks ago.

I just ordered one of these. Very reasonably priced and I like the landscape orientation of these books. I have never had a sketchbook oriented that way and I'm really looking forward to using it. (I always flip mine sideways which I feel kind of messes with the flow when you are viewing the sketchbook.)

Would art done with Gelly Roll pens be accetable for Inktober? I have decided I will step out of my comfort zone, in many ways, and join you in this challenge. I committed myself to this event by posting the Inktober 2017 list on my Instagram! I would love to get the Inktober stickers you have on your journals! Can you share where you acquired them? I so enjoy your channel! Every day I make sure to watch one of your videos because I learn something, but most of all you help me to see what one can accomplish even though they, too, are in pain. My pain has left me physically disabled and I also have several chronic illnesses, but Im moving on!Your smile and cheerfullness, even when you aren't 100%, encourages me in ways you cannot know. Just getting a paint brush, or pen and ink, in hand is a fairly big deal for me! Thank you! You're probably getting annoyed by all of the likes and comments from pinkiemouse1 or Kelly R. Wilson as we are one in the same. Do you have a Pinterest account I can follow? Looking forward to working with you for Inktober, even if it is just by hashtag! May God Bless you, Sharon!
