Scott and Mitch were the main writers of this track which is why they sing lead. Kirstin had plenty of leads on this album though, so no reason to worry. :)

Also, even when she doesn't get a lead/solo part, Kirstin always rocks the background harmonies. She's a big reason those "instrumental background" parts are so good. Mitch and Scott are also excellent in that role, but over their 10 years as Pentatonix, Kirstin in particular has been essential in the background track.

I’m so glad you pointed out that transition near the end by Kevin (so many reactors miss it). Kirstie has so many leads on this originals album, I’m glad Scott and Mitch got this one. It reminds me so much of Superfruit. They even used the same room as Deny U by Superfruit.

Very much a Superfruit vibe on this! I think that many of the songs on this album could have just as easily been on a solo project album for each of them, (or Superfruit for ScoMiche). One of the things that makes PTX so great is that they bring the same feel and passion to the group, even if they're only doing background on a particular song, as they do for their lead solos and individual projects.

Fantastic Reaction! The person who brings you coffee in bed really does care for you, no matter what! Since this is an album celebrating their first decade together, I see this one as a nod to Superfruit; Scott and Mitch. Mitch in the rafters! Amazing harmonies! And apparently Kevin acquired a steel drum!!!! The room changes to reflect each member which is really cool. They’ve worked hard to stay together and all the while respecting & promoting each other’s strengths. Here’s to the next decade!

Agree that on this song, Kirstin is holding down the middle rather than the lead. But on the album this song is between 2 songs that she leads. Love this whole album and so glad you’re featuring!!!

This song, if memory serves, was recorded during the time Kirsten was in New York doing Kinky Boots. Her rehearsal schedule, and performance schedule, were nuts, so she didn't have a lot of time or energy to put into PXT. So, she took a "break" on certain songs. Now, you have to understand, here idea of a "break" is "just" doing backing tracks on a few songs. Lol. Anyway, great reaction, man, as always. Thank you for putting the effort, which I have some idea of how much it really takes to put out these videos, into making this content. I would really love to see you react to PTX's cover of Gold when you have the chance. Avi is in that one, and if you think Kevin and Matt are tight, you have GOT to hear those two, and, for me, that is the absolute best showcase of what it is they did so well!

This was written by Scott and Mitch with a professional song writer. Kirsten was singing back ground. She does not need to be featured in every song. All of them are background in some performances even Mitch from time to time.

So I feel like on these Original albums each song is written by different members so sometimes Kirstin won’t get much shine but Be My Eyes was All Kirstin so it kinda balances out lmao Man you should really start from the beginning with The Sing-Off. Their first performance there is actually their first Ever live performance as a whole group. Watch those 12 or 13 performances in a row and see how good they were from the jump and how far they’ve come. It’ll give you a whole new respect for these amazing people 🤘🔥

I've heard that he has specific sounds he makes that he can either use to breathe in or breathe out (depending on the sounds) and that they write those in when writing the arrangements. So he can basically continually make sounds and breathe at the same time. Wild!

This song has Kirstin maintaining more of the "instrumental" and ambient musical effects. She is not taking lead but her role is integral, just like Kevin and Matt. Don't forget the arrangement is not just beat and lead vocals. This song falls apart without her amazing performance. No one says why don't Kevin or Matt have a solo if they don't take lead. If you listen carefully she is laying out music just as challenging as the others.

Every PTX member does not have a solo or lead in every song. They take turns depending on what is best for the songs. When not soloing or leading, they all are doing effects, harmonies, and backgrounds. I understand your pain as I favor Kirstin. Mitch fans feel the same way about Mitch. Recommend their Rather Be (Kirstin lead), Cheerleader, Come Along, Be My Eyes (Kirstin lead), and Thank You. A great Kirstin lead is Water from the Popspring 2016 concert. Their whole 4 song set is worth reviewing. Kirstin has been writing many songs and has writing credits for Water and Be My Eyes.

Kirstie wrote or co-wrote half of the songs on this album (The Lucky Ones, which is made up entirely of original songs), but not this one. She takes lead or co-lead on all the songs she wrote, so she's featured prominently throughout the album. Be My Eyes and Love Me When I Don't are two of her highlights on the album. Basically, whoever wrote the songs took the lead on them. This one is a Scott/Mitch co-write. This past week, they released a deluxe edition of the album which features a lot of bonus tracks.

That drop by Kevin is one of my favorite parts of this song, and you don't hear it in the version that they did "Live on the Late Late Show", so I am really glad you listened to this version! This is my favorite song on the original album, and ties with Anchor as favorite on the deluxe version. And as much as I am a huge Mitch fan, and I love them all in this, Kevin totally blew me away the most! I love the little break Kevin does near the end!
