Scott and Mitch said she was an angel. They had an early morning call to record and were nervous that she wouldn’t like what they had done to her song. Instead, she showed in full glam , on time, loved the a Capella version and they recorded this after only three run thrus. And they all won a Grammy for this . She is 71 here. This is a true icon and pure class

I love the fact that they were scared when she said that it was quite different and said they would change it for her but she just got excited and learned their version instead and insisted on them taking a lead. What a class act she is. And she seems like someone who still gets joy from having fun with other musicians, so no wonder they had fun together!

Avi has said Dolly was a favorite. So happy Dolly finally won a Grammy for Jolene with this song. PTX has a huge catalog with so many genres. With 3 Grammys for this, Daft Punk, and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Pentatonix earned their star on Hollywood for sure. ❤

Yes, Grammy #3. This was done in 3 takes. In regards to Mitch, he had Scott shave his hair in a Superfruit video. He said that his hair was so damaged and he thought the best thing was to just shave it. He rocks any and every hair style. And the Grammy they won is the only award that Dolly has gotten for this song. She insisted that PTX have a moment in the arrangement. They were all on tour and did this in a day. They all adore each other. Miley Cyrus is Dolly's goddaughter. All 3 of them performed on the voice. I was disappointed in Miley's performance, tbh. PTX and Dolly were classy, Miley was...not.

Right?!?Mitch's lack of hair is a very different look for him,but when he had Scott shave it he said it was because it was so badly damaged,so it made sense.however...shocking right!?!it took me a few times seeing him bald to get used to it,but it grows on you and you get used to it.🙂 he still rocks,with hair or not.🙂this arrangement is fantastic,and Dolly is an absolute Legend & a joy to watch & hear...with PTX it's a combination that is AMAZING!!!😃3rd Grammy well deserved!!!✌

This is great. My daughter got me some CDs last Christmas, off a wishlist. One was the 3-disk Dolly Parton - Linda Ronstadt - Emmylou Harris "Trio" set. The first disk, from 1987, is the best, but all of them are good. I've been listening to that first disc for over 30 years, but never had my own copy until now. Also under the tree was Barry Gibb's "Greenfields Vol.1." Re-recordings of Bee Gees hits, with a different guest artist on each track. Barry had Dolly as the guest on "Words," which was excellent. The best track on the CD is either that one, or else "Too Much Heaven" with Alison Krauss.

Actually, Cracker Barrel, (the restaurant) got both of them together. If you notice, Cracker Barrel signs are prominently displayed in the video. Cracker Barrel had Pentatonix and Mickey Guyton do a Christmas special in 2021. They also sang songs separately and together during the special. It's on Cracker Barrel's KZbin channel and some of the songs were posted separately.
