I totally agree with you about Avi/Matt! Just because I love Avi doesn't mean i don't like Matt. Avi was a big part of why pentatonix is what it is today and would be disrespectful to ignore his talent by "forgetting" him.

Thank you! I hate when those of us who’s hearts were touched specially by Avi have to defend it as if we’re slating Matt, just by saying we love Avi! Matt is an incredible singer and was a brilliant addition to PTX when Avi left. For me, Avi is just special, and I wouldn’t compare him to Matt any more than I would compare him to any of the others. They are all amazing, but we’re all different and will have different favourites. I’m glad Avi is in a better (and healthier) place now, and making music at a pace which suits him. His solo music is beautiful and continues to touch everyone. And PTX get to carry on with their awesomeness - so everybody wins. As always, loved your reaction. Always stay to the end

Really great reaction! Yeah, if Avi had left in the middle of a big fight with the rest of PTX, I could see why some fans would want to forget him. But his mom was very ill, and he was struggling with being away on tour for months at a time. The fact that they found someone who is as talented and fun as Matt to replace him was great, but when you look at these old videos, you can see what a miracle it was for these 5 to have ever found each other. Looking forward to more PTX reactions!

Something people keep forgetting to realize is that these "Evolution of..." videos they record are all one-takes. That in itself blows my mind, to keep the blends so well on a single directional mic is killer to me.

It's cool you take your time to notice those little details. They're meant to be noticed, imo, so for me it doesn't matter if you backtrack a million times to check something out! On the contrary, kudos to you for taking the time to do so. Check out their cover of Kiiara's Gold. Similar to these "evolution of" vids, they recorded Gold in a single take and it's insane! If you haven't heard the original song, I'd suggest you do so before reacting to PTX's version, since that way you'll get to appreciate how clever at arranging these people are.

I totally agree with you. People can like what they like and shouldn't have to explain it. I love Avi but then I love Matt too! I'm not sure if I already said this on another reaction but a great video to see their personalities and them having fun is 'Pentatonix tries to sing 100 songs in 10 minutes'. It is great fun 🙂

I think people are just defensive of Matt because there were a lot of people who were dismissing him outright because he was "not as good as Avi"...but sometimes people take it too far and take people preferring Avi or praising Avi as dissing Matt
