Avi is trained in opera and choral music did you know? It does throw people off that he is very classically trained. Not just a bass line in the back. He also gave Kevin voice lessons when they were roommates when Pentatonix was starting out. Kevin had been an instrumentalist before in cello and saxophone but not singing. Avi, on the other hand, won the newly re-named award of rythmn section from beatboxing from the ICCA so they could give it to him. It is still usually awarded to a beatboxer but one other bass received it in 2017. You may want to see what Avi Kaplan does on his own. He is a songwriter so almost everything he does is his original music that is very different from song to song. "Change On the Rise" is the most famous and the latest is "First Place I Go".

It's Xmas time so Pentatonix has a ton of Christmas music..."God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"'; White Winter Hymnal; "What Xmas Means to Me"; "12 Days of Xmas"; "Mr. Grinch"; plus dozens of others....GO FOR IT !!!!! BTW, I'd love for you to react to Haley Reinhart ("Creep" from PostModern Jukebox) and MARCIN, a Polish guitarist (start with "Still D.R.E.)... both of them are the best performers on the PLANET for what they do....REALLY !!!
