Amazing Grace is always magnificent, no matter who sings it. I like Petatonix very much. They show both the strength of the song and the peace of the Lord. But I have to say: I LOVE Dan Vasc's powerful vocal reach, especially when he sings Amazing Grace! I have to vote for Dan, I have never heard a voice with such broad, consuming power. I have tremendous respect for how he has pushed himself to the limit to perfect and expand his vocals. I feel so strong when I hear him sing Amazing Grace. It's carrying a great power.

Not even the same song, really, so hard to compare. PTX is great, and they did a very entertaining variation. However, there is no comparison. Dan Vasc just sang the most beautiful version I have ever heard. Powerful, yet respectful, and it touched my heart. Dan didn't just win. We ALL won. P.S. I don't like comparing artists, personally.

Agree with apples and oranges but Dan sang by himself through about 4 octaves. Vocally I think he By far showed his vocal prowess but I also love PTX!

Three majority of PTX had three to four octaves. I’d argue it’s more difficult in a group bc if one person is off, it’s totally noticeable. Whereas a solo singer can just go with the flow if a little flat or sharp. Both PTX and Dan are exceptional I like the or sharp

That is a bias opinion. Other singer are better than one another. Just matter of preference for you. So that is your opinion, and my opinion is Scott, the male singer in PTX is better singer than Dan.

PTX using only voices no instruments always surprises me. His version is beautiful. Not a great comparison very different, both enchanting. I prefer the PTX sound. Just a preference.

And you have a right to a preference. That's the purpose of the question. I wrote my own post without reading anyone else. Scrolling down the page has shown me how overwhelming the preference was for Dan. He has a lot of "fans'. But I expect PTX does too. I salute you, not because I agree with your choice, but because I admire your courage to speak up for your preference in the face of such a "great crowd of witnesses." Personally, I chose Dan because I have only become aware of him in the past month or so, but I am blown away by his style and vocal range. There is something very powerful about watching and listening to him sing. I think I may be following the path of a "fan". That's something I have never claimed in all my (I won't bother to mention how many) years. God bless you!

You're comparing apples n oranges! There is a place for both but really no comparison. Apart from the group dynamic, Dan Vasc stuck to the more traditional version of the hymn, which I like. However, he was all over the map in terms of tone n pitch, so I prefer the PTX version.

From the first time I heard Dan’s version I felt that he was singing it the way it needed to be sung- new believer being introduced to Gods Grace, humble believer accepting Gods Grace, to all out warrior in His army ! To me - totally powerful!
