Thank you explaining the two bulb modes. Because I did not test out the electronic cable and bulb combo prior to shooting summer fireworks, I was puzzled and did not fully enjoy the firework show. BTW, Bulb mode type 2 was called "T" mode on some film cameras and view camera lenses.

I’m doing back to Pentax, specifically K1, having wondered off into several other worlds and finding the grass was not greener. In the process i found your channel and even though it haven’t yet attempted night photography. You inspire me and i will soon go out there and do it.

The bulb mode thing is on a K5 as well. And maybe older pentax. I use it with a little IR remote so I don't have to touch anything. I discovered that years ago as I didn't have a cable but had a remote. It's a neat function.

Good day. I use a K1 for wildlife and portraits. Will use the K1 for start during my December holidays in South Africa. My question and I really hope you can assist is the focus point setting when taking moving objects such as birds. The K1 does not have tracking but there must be an alternative. Can you please assist❤

I have had this happen to me, but there is another Bulb mode surprise. When in bulb mode the green button alternates between a timer setting or bulb setting. When fumbling around in the dark I have inadvertently pressed the green button. This changes the cameras behaviour, so instead of stopping when I release the shutter button it continues until the timer runs out.

YEP! The green button has sabotaged me before. The first time it happened it took me a little while to track down the mistake. I like having the ability to toggle back and forth but with great power comes great responsibility! :)

Does the Pentax works with other brands wired remote controls or do I need to by a Pentax one.

This seems to be the same input connector as what you would find on the Canon Rebel series. It looks like a small stereo plug ( a single silver jack.) It's also pretty small and fragile so be careful!

I had the same question. Does anyone know which intervelometer currently available at B&H or Amazon that works with the K1?

@@LisaOsta Just look for the one that works with the Canon Rebel series. It looks like a single prong stereo plug.
