Congratulations design team. I think you are already writing a piece of history with the new Pentax 17. I think there is enough demand to make more beautiful models in the future. Even if it happens once every few years. Analog photography will always exist and I think it is a clever and daring project. Good luck and I will definitely purchase the Pentax 17. Regards Pieter.

Thank you for bringing back film camera. I prefer holding a photo in my hand than looking at it on computer. The warmth, feel, and colour of the film photography is unmatched by digital photography. Hopefully Pentax 17 will set the trend for camera manufacturers to make more film cameras. It's time for film!

How could I not be in love with Pentax? You guys have just made something that puts romanticism back into photography. Despite any possible commercial success this camera can have, time will speak, you have already won by releasing this. Shot picture with love.

Grazie 🙏

❤❤❤ Congratulation Pentax and great job with the Design TKO!
Congratulations TKO, all the people working on the Film Project and Pentax! I'm extremely excited and I can't wait to get my hands on a new Pentax 17. TKO, your joy, enthusiasm and passion were humbling to watch - thank you for sharing it with us.
Well done Pentax! They've really listened to the needs of the target audience and thought about the product. I wish them all the success in future film cameras

Pentax 17 is exactly what I am looking for. I’m not a professional photographer, I have used mirrorless camera for a few years. Sometimes, I would like to try film camera because of its retro style and feelings. I would like to own a film camera that is not expensive and easy to use. I used disposable film camera, but I want more. Thus, a high-quality point-to-shoot camera is a good choice for me. And Pentax 17 is the best choice for me. I’m really looking forward to Pentax 17 selling in Hong Kong.😃
Thank you! This announcement has me smiling ear to ear and cheering you on from my seat. I'm proud of you and PENTAX for upholding the simple joy of analogue photography, and to be part of the story with my own PENTAX cameras!

I am loving the camera, it is taking some work to use a ND/CPL filter on it as its viewfinder does not see through the lens
This isn't for me, though I may still buy one to support your PENTAX film project, but I think you nailed what you were going for, and I think the target audience will like it a lot. The 72 shots per 36 roll, allows people to shoot more like they do with digital, not worrying too much about how many are left, and the smaller size negative emphasises the film grain, which with a lot of modern film is much reduced, so giving the sought-after film look more readily. Great idea for an introductory camera, and really well designed and executed. Personally I'd love to see a similar camera but going the other way in film size to an X-PAN 24x65mm size negative, and a 45mm lens focusing in the same way as this model (perhaps without the macro distance). The film winder would probably have to be electronic, or a manual knob, rather than a lever, but having a new X-PAN camera (PENTAX-PAN) at an affordable price would be great, and I think would make a wonderful companion to this half frame camera.
Congratulations guys! I appreciate the passion that went into making this and even getting a budget approved for it given the business landscape these days. It looks nice and retro. I wish you could have included some more manual controls, but I understand that it's meant to be easy to use by everyone. I'm buying one to support the direction, and I'm looking forward to a fully manual body in the future.
