This is an excellent what-if Star Wars fanfiction, Mr. Pente Patrol. Darth Vader started an Imperial Civil War, which we never get to see in Star Wars fanfiction stories, but having the Galactic Empire reforming into the New Empire is something I never expected a significant change having the Galactic Empire reform instead of being replaced by the New Galactic Republic. This is a great story, my friend. Keep up the great work, and no matter what happens or what anybody says, you make the best stories in the SW fanfiction community. I really mean it. Seeing how he hated the elements of the empire that were against non-humans and that the New Republic was repeating the same mistakes of the previous Old Republic & the Jedi. The New Republic still had a lot problems with a decentralized government and the old wounds from the outer colonies that initially started the Clone Wars against the Core planets still existed. Look at how the same rivalries and corruption existed in the Halo universe when colonies from both the outer & inner planets fought each other. Thrawn's vision for a reformed yet strong Imperial empire was the best option to closely unite the galaxy against the Unknown Threats akin to how Jon Snow in GoT tried to mend the wars in Westeros to face the greater threat.

He had the same insane plans palpatine had with ensuring his eternal life and crazy weapons projects (but they weren’t big super weapons so it was ok even though they were equally draining on the imperial economy and could be destroyed in one attack in the same manner) and was just better at doing battle than any of them. Palpatine was a behind the scenes manipulator that relied on strong henchmen to fight his battles for him, Anakin/Vader has spent his entire adult life as a warrior on the battlefield. Vader and his faction claps Sidious, admittedly after some initial setbacks.

I am seeing SOOOOO many US Civil War references here. Battle of Vondar seems so much like Gettysburg. A hard fought 3 day battle with massive casualties on both sides with a defense that was forced to fall back on day 1 and a flanking attack that was fought off the on the second at high cost and finally a frontal attack on the third day where the attacking general apologized to his men for the failure of the attack and plan… and then a long siege is immediately won a day later. It’s just Gettysburg and Vicksburg. Then the Anacondan plan is just the Anaconda Plan in name that the Union used to blockade the south… but the actual details are all Sherman’s Total War/March to the Sea style of warfare. Oh, and the whole issue of slavery leading to the outbreak. (Edit) (See’s ending talk) I KNEW IT! I’m so happy to see those homages were 100% deliberate. I really love this story, one of my favorites. I love military sci-fi and Empire at War and seeing all the homages to them were great. And the homages to real military history, especially American Civil War history for a Civil War History Buff like me was great.

Vader in both Legends and Canon had learned about canon. Both I believe early on in their careers, it just felt odd as hell in either timeline that Vader never truly acted against Palpatine on the issue of slavery in the empire. It's nice to see what if's where Anakin takes the issue head on in various different scenario's such as these.

Perhaps you could do a video on what would happen if the Yuuzhan Vong invaded in the middle of the Clone Wars? That would certainly be interesting - potentially having the CIS and Republic calling at least a temporary truce to fight against a more prevalent and common enemy. Plus, considering how much the Yuuzhan Vong hate droids, seeing them face off against trillions of CIS battle droids would certainly be intriguing, to say the least.

It was pretty interesting how things were different from the start just by grace of this being an inner conflict unlike with the Rebellion, and how it changed so many lives both for the better and the worse. Yularen vs Vader was something I've never even considered, but I honestly think it's one of the best things to ever come out of the What Ifs. Seeing Saw Guerrera of all people here was unexpected but surprisingly enjoyable, honestly the Rebirth had quite the interesting ensemble of people as it's leaders. Good to see Anakin got his kids back and that they got to enjoy life outside the Jedi-Sith conflict. Wow, that's a lot of different Jedi Orders, I kinda wish we got to see a bit more of that (also jay! Kanan survives here. Probably Cere too, so that's great), but who knows, maybe in another AU. What if, instead of once then never again, Obi Wan, and later on Anakin (and Ahsoka too if you want), used Force Speed at every single chance he thought it would be useful?

Aye Pente been watching you for about a year and a half now finally got a KZbin account. Got some what if ideas if you’d like to take them. 1: What if Ezra killed thrawn or never got sent to the other galaxy with him. 2: What if the super tactical droid from the rebels episode the last battle (kalani) joined the rebel alliance or more specifically the ghost crew. 3: What if Dooku formed the cis but stayed a Jedi (still leaving the order of course) 4: What if mother Tounsan showed Grevious who really was responsible for his ship crash and what happened to his body. 5: What if a new cis formed in the wake of the new republics collapse in the force awakens to combat the first order. 6: What if the new republic wasn’t stupid and had a proper military and response to the first orders rise in the sequels. (Since you know they had to fight the empire for how many years and now thrawns reborn empire)

I'm glad you enjoyed! And yes, I didn't realize until I uploaded it, that I never mentioned the Death Star. Since this war really kicks off between 8-4 BBY, I think the Authority would've been more focused on flagships, since the DS would only encourage others to join Rebirth. But definitely should've been mentioned, which is my bad!

I like the detail that there is more than one Jedi Order that rises in the aftermath. The Lothal Jedi, the Night Jedi*, the Old Jedi (Yoda and Obi-Wan), the Unaligned (Anakin). (* There was a non-fic plotbunny post on AO3 about the Mantis Crew time travelling and Cal and Merrin picking up Shmi and Anakin before Naboo happened. The general idea is Cal trains Anakin, Merrin trains Shmi as a Nightsister, they visit Dathomir and claim Savage a Feral, with the former being more inclined to the Darkker side while the latter more to the Lighter, and in the aftermath of Naboo, end up finding and taking Maul under their protection, and basically knock about the galaxy making up a mix of Jedi, Nightsister, and just a shade of Sith ideologies into their own thing and eventually running into Obi-Wan and drawing him into their little group too. I made a comment on the plotbunny saying I want to think of them taking the name "Night Jedi" and that they become agents of Controlled Chaos and Balance.)
