so glad i found your channel! it's awesome. i'm heading down -- hopefully in january. Another channel said that "things are changing" regarding residency in 2025 -- is there anything i should do now....before 2025.... to secure my temporary residency? I plan on staying for 4+ years and will summer in Wisconsin. I know ya'll are super busy so no rush on answering my silly question. Really enjoy your videos -- you guys are naturals!
@TrulyRemarkableLifeАй бұрын
@@darilynkotzenberg9344 Thank you so much! Yes, if you are able to get a consulate appointment in the US and get your residency visa before the end of the year and then come down and complete the canje process, that will mean you qualify on 2024 income or assets level. They will go up in 2025, but it is currently unknown as to how much. It is a definite stretch that you might get an appointment in 2024 due to it being so close to the end of the year, to be honest, but Good Luck!

Is Mexico more accepting than the U.S.?
@TrulyRemarkableLifeАй бұрын
@@samo8204 That is a broad question and really depends on what things you are referring to, but in our experience, Mexican culture is a lot more "live and let live" and "mind your own business" and "judge not lest ye be judged" than the US. I hope that helps. KJ

I really enjoy your videos, guys. Thanks a lot for all the great info. After last Tuesday, I am so blue and disgusted and worried about exactly what you don't want to talk about here that I have finally made the decision to leave the US. Do you guys know anything about the program for Mexico residency that lets one NOT have to prove any financeal solvency? I think its call "regularization". Mexico has raised the requirements so much in the last few years that many of us living just fine on Social Security don't have high enough income to get residency but could actually afford to live in Mexico quite easily. The recent numbers are getting pretty crazy.

Guys, I'm looking at Portugal and Mexico as my options. I'm leaving the U.S. in 2025. Do you know if there is a way to find out how much my monthly prescriptions drugs would cost in Mexico? I've tried doing searches and plugging in the names of the medications but I have not had any luck that way.
@TrulyRemarkableLifeАй бұрын
@@chuckmurray1825 Often, drugs are named differently - at least with a Spanish version of the word - in other countries. I would recommend going to the website for Farmacia Guadalajara. It is a large chain like walgreens, and they should have the info on their site. They are a trusted pharmacy with regards to quality. There may be differences based on where you live but you should be able to search the location. Of course, you may need to google what each med is called here, and even "is xyz available in mexico"... but many times the mainstream drugs will have the same name. Be sure to note that often prices may be listed at the price offered to citizens with their govt insurance. Usually a regular price is crossed out and the lower price is for those with the govt program. Look at the crossed out price for worse case scenario pricing. Also if you are fluent in Spanish, or have someone who is... they could also call one of the locations to ask pricing and availability.
