After working at a job from 1999 to 2018 for nearly 20 years decided to move on to something else. In those 20+ years my pay went from $16.50 to only $23 per hour. Found another position at $38.84 immediate benefits, profit sharing, stocks, etc. And then got a call from the old company wanting to hire me back after 3 years. They realized I was the only person who knew all the specs and repair procedures for their equipment. Was quoted $28, laughed at told them $45 to start, my own hours, full benefits from day 1, after hours calls would be $100 starting from time I left home until I got back home verifying by google location history. They didnt call me back until a month later to ask if I would do it for $31. 😆🤣Employers need to understand inflation and their skills are worth more than they realized. My wife worked there also after 20 years she went from $10.50 to $12.50. BTW. That company declared bankruptcy and was sold due to their inability to keep good maintenance engineers to keep things running.😆

I had a interview at a restaurant, and when I was walking out, they called me a b- th. I ended up working at the health department, and when I inspected that restaurant, it failed. I got great pleasure shutting them down.

"Competitive Wages" means they are in competition with other companies to see who can pay you the least.

Interviewed at Delta airlines. Actually took two tests. Mechanic and psych. They said I failed one but wouldn't say which one. Never heard back. They filed for bankruptcy later on. Post office wanted to hire me. Never would say pay or benefits shifts etc. Told them no thanks. Interviewed at a local utility. They said I would probably got back to my old career field as a reason not to hire me. Stayed at my old job till a better one came along. I feel that they interview people to say they interviewed people when all along they were going to hire someone else. Just wasting your time. But it helps you build your interview skills and spot lousy jobs to avoid. Wonder why there is a labor shortage.

Labor shortage reports seem to be about 99% inaccurate. More social engineering propaganda.

An interviewer once asked me, "Why do you think you would be a good fit for our company?" I told him, "Well, obviously you have a problem you need me to fix or you wouldn't be hiring." I don't know why companies ask this question. I need money to live, and you need my labor to survive, so there's a good fit right there. BTW, I was hired later that day by a different company for a better position.

I was on a job interview as an RN and the Interviewer (new boss) asked why I'm leaving my job. I replied, " I hate my old boss!" The new boss said " I hate him too!" She hired me on the spot. Lol

My husband and I had just retired from the Navy and we needed to find jobs. I applied at a tire place, I was an aircraft mechanic, the man tells me that I'm over qualified for the position, I asked him shouldn't "I be the one who decides if I'm over qualified or not?" I would have flipped burgers at that point.

I don't know if I'm too slow to read or the slides go by too fast.

@@l.5832 Naw that's a pain in the ass. I'm ok with just skipping videos like that. And who knows maybe the creator would appreciate this kind of feedback.. 😬🔥

I have a doctorate degree. So it ain’t about intelligence. The slides go too fast. I just put it on stop and double tap on the right after I read each slide. The double tab advances the video ten seconds, or a complete slide. Best wishes.

I was interviewing as a software developer once. There were a lot of requirements so I figured it would be a challenging job. Not really, just a clueless employer. They determined their requirements by looking at other people's ads. So they wanted Perl, Python, C#, C++, and Java. But had no one interviewing applicants who even knew how to write code. They had no requirements documents. When I asked how they were doing what they wanted to do now they said they weren't, which was why they wanted a program written to do it. And when I laughed at the salary they told me they couldn't pay more unless I had a graduate degree. I think they ended up hiring some guy with a Master's in Library Science. I went to work for a headhunter in Chicago.

My worst was for a lateral transfer to another state agency. Had someone from affirmative action (aka diversity wokeness) sit in, and she spent the entire time on her smartphone. At the very end, she tossed me a five page invasive questionaire that needed to be filled out, and I was told that they going to interview family/friends/neighbors as well (public safety agency). Thought about for a day, felt the questionaire/interview for a payroll clerk job was extreme overkill, and called back to give my regrets about continuing with the interview process.

The last job interview I had was the worst. Thankfully, it should be my last once and for all.

3:41 I think most of my trial shifts weren't paid, but it was just one shift and I always got the job afterwards so I didn't mind too much. If you get like 2 weeks of trial work as some builders get, then yeah you should be paid. But one shift was alright and I don't think it's regularly paid, like, in any business

I worked one shift free, 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.......milking cows. Cows came in on upper level so you could attach the milking machine. I got covered in cow poop multiple times, fell down once and was laughed at. Did not go back.
