First story, I thought it was common sense not to propose at someone else's wedding. Like, is it really that hard? Second story:... so many things wrong. Dad had absolutely no right to tell OP to use tampons. If OP wanted to use tampons, that's her choice, but he has no right to force it on her. Also, does he think using tampons is going to stop the dog from getting in the trash? No, the dog will likely just destroy the tampons instead. Seems like the dog needs to be trained not to dig in the trash. Side note, what's up with so many people implying people who use pads are childish or immature? This is like the fifth story I've seen of someone saying "Grow up, use tampons". Again, if someone wants to use tampons, that's their choice, but exactly what is childish or immature about pads?

There was a tampon ad campaign that called pads "diapers", they even showed a baby with a bulky diaper. That was many years ago, I don't know if the ad set the trend or if that's old public image.

It's SO gross not only to tell girls/AFABs to "grow up and use a tampon" as it is, implying that it's "mature" to use a tampon...because it goes in you. That's legit the only different, that's the big change, the big ole whoop about tampons, it goes up the hoohaa. To say it's something you need to "grow up" and "get used to" is so disgusting and obviously sexualized/creepy when it's legit just a blood and flesh catcher. But it's 100x more disgusting, nasty, creepy, vile, invasive, and beyond gross for a MAN, a FATHER no less, to tell a girl something like that. "Grow up" jfc, do people really say that about a period product? Pads aren't made with little 12 yr olds on the packaging tf is wrong with those nasty fools. And over a DOG too, just close the damn door and or train/watch over the damn dog and stop it from getting ahold of shit it shouldn't 😭 its obviously attracted to the scent of the period blood so just- let the door be closed so the dog can't get ahold of them Imagine objectifying your own child and acting like putting a tampon in her is making her "grow up" OVER A DOG

A grown man telling his daughter to grow up and use an invasive form of feminine products is so wrong on so many levels. Its her body and her choice and he does not get to pressure her to do something she’s clearly uncomfortable with and on top of that if he has a problem with it maybe he can also take action to make sure their dog doesnt do that, either by training them or simply just keeping the damn door closed.

Story 1: Two iron clad rules for a wedding: don’t show up in white, and don’t propose, announce pregnancy or do anything which takes the spotlight from the couple in any way. Story 2: how about the dad makes an effort to train his dog to stay out of the rubbish bin?! Oh wait, that would require him to actually make an effort instead of taking the easy way out and blaming OP for using the sanitary protection that’s best for her comfort.

The first story is so wild! How are you going to take away the shine from someone else on their WEDDING DAY? The second story is just crazy. How are you, a man, going to tell your daughter what to use during her period? You don’t know enough about a period or her body to decide that! Me personally, I wouldn’t be comfortable using a tampon either! TSS is a risk I’m not willing to take. Instead of blaming the daughter, take responsibility and teach the dog!

1:47 I had the exact same issue when we babysat my aunt's dog and I also was the one cleaning up and (unsurprisingly) the best solution was to just close the door when we were done. It's very easily dealt with and the dad had no reason to make it into something to confront her about if she's cleaning it up herself anyways.

Story 1: OP should tell his parents they're right and that separating business and personal life means firing the brother is the perfect solution lol Story 2: Given that the mum is 47, I assume the dad is a similar age, yet he doesn't understand how feminine hygiene products work at his age? He and the dog both need training lol

I think the best way that OP in the first story can get revenge, is by having him and his wife announce their pregnancy on his brother's wedding day. Or have his wife's/OP's friend propose to their S/O on their wedding day, so the brother will understand exactly how it feels when his spotlight is taken away by proposals.

Personally, I wouldn't go as far as firing the brother, but I do understand why he did it. If anything, it teaches you who your real friends are because the brother is not only one who's guilty. Those who were constantly putting the limelight on the brother and his fiancé are guilty too. The dad going on about tampons. What the F is wrong with him? He's the one who needs to grow up. The dog is still going to pull them out and make a mess. Not to mention you're not supposed to sleep with tampons. She did the right thing.

Story 1: it's a universal rule to not propose at someone else's wedding without the bride and groom's permission and approval, the brother didn't even ask, he just went with it and expected the op to be okay with it, and when he got fired he's wondering "what did I do?" Story 2: dad was out of line, op was already figuring out ways to stop the dog from getting into the bathroom trash and dad still decided to bother her about it, and telling her what period products to use, and he should know that you never flush tampons as it can clog the pipes

@Pinkalooo
@Pinkalooo Жыл бұрын
I can use them and I did when needed from 13-17, but knowing they can be risky if left too long gave me anxiety and maybe it was just mental, but I swear my abdomen would hurt in a different way than cramps when they got close to the 8 hour mark. I only ever really left them in for 6 hours at most. My mom got me a menstrual cup at 17 when I finally got comfortable with the idea and asked for one. It's all I've used along with pads for 2 years now and I'd never use a tampon again as long as I have my cup. If I was desperate I would, but tampons will never by my first choice for swimming or going out for a long time ever again. So as someone who used tampons for 4 years, and still can use them, I personally wouldn't go back to them. Even with my menstrual cup I still use at least liners to catch any leaks. If you're comfortable with it at all though, I absolutely suggest the menstrual cup. They vary by brand but some brand have really soft flexy ones that you don't even feel once they're in place, and you don't feel like you're gonna leak past your pad or anything. And they can safely stay in for 12 hours no problem. I've even pushed it a few times and have been absolutely fine. There's no risk of TTS, only the blood getting old and causing bacteria. This probably sounds like an ad but I SWEAR it's just been that good for me.

0:05: Number one rule of weddings: Never, I repeat, never upstage the bride and groom. Ever. Period. End of discussion. Maybe firing his brother may have went too far, but still... 1:26: OP's dad should absolutely "stay in his lane". Because I feel like, the rational relatives and friends would still focus on the main wedding instead of the proposal that just happened. Well is not that the propolsals are big, is just that on the western culture, proposing on a weding it's a very disrespectful thing to do, because weddings are the big and important event of the day were the groom and the bride are the most important people. So doing a propolsal in a wedding is a very disrespectful thing to do. In the very first story, yes you are overthinking it because work is business compared to your wedding which is very personal. Your little brother is obviously a great worker, but you're just mad about something personal. His little brother probably strives to try to be just like his big brother so he thought that at least you would be happy that he's proposing to his girl too, and I am sure that the big brother was already married when his little bro popped the question to his gf. So how exactly was the event ruined? In the second story, that is such a very insensitive thing for the dad to say because he doesn't even know what all his daughter is specifically going through. He definitely owes her an apology. These were some great stories!! Much love my dear sweet friend!! Have a great day!! Stay safe!!
