People counter / Object counter without microcontroller by 4026 IC,LDR

This video is about how to make object counter by LDR(light dependent resistance)
The resistance will change according to light ,when light falls on LDR resistance start's to decrease vice versa in darken area.
LDR is connected to base of transistor so when light falls on LDR the collector and emitter short circuited, then postive voltage get to into the clock of IC ( this IC work on postive edge).

I used counter ic., Where the number will be changing by clock pulse,. So to generate clock pulse i have used the LDR, there i normally connect to +5v , when the person passes it's get into ground,so that's how clock pulse is created.

Love your work, I did this project. Problem is it's not counting 🥺 I rechecked everything connections I had. Do you think it's the LDR that's defective?

I tried using tactile switch with it, and it works. But when I switch back to LDR it doesn't count 🥺 please help mee

Oh then check tha LDR or adjust the potentiometer keep it High resistance, if u checked with switch means no prob in ic ,so prob will be in generating the pulse so check the transistor,LDR it's working properly
