My friend is from china. He doesn’t speak english THAT well, and when he came to our school, he was super clingy to me and my friend group. My friends tried to shoo him away and overall just treated him badly. He was always sitting by himself at lunch. I was the only one that had even a small sense of compassion, since I realized that if I went to a random Chinese school I would probably absolutely butcher my mandarin, and get bullied. Then, one day, I decided to get his number and promise that I would call him and play Minecraft with him after school. I eventually called him up, and we had a great time. In fact, he even went as far as teaching me some mandarin and cantonese. Everyone else just saw him as some loser with no friends who was always annoying everyone, but on that day, I saw another side of him. Eventually, I got everyone else in my friend group to play with him, and they all now realize how much more there is to him. Always treat people the way you want to be treated ❤️
