It’s pretty crappy of him to confess his feelings when he has no intention of following through. He pumped that girl’s hopes up then left her hanging. The girl is going to think she did something wrong to scare him away, unless he tells her why he isn’t asking her out, which will ruin the friendship between her and the sister, defeating the whole purpose of him not asking her out. And it seems like a crappy thing for the sister to make herself an obstacle to happiness for two of her loved ones because she’s afraid things might be awkward if it doesn’t work out. There’s nothing wholesome about any of this.

There is only one time in my adult life where I have been absolutely SICK from such a heavy crush to the point where I had to confess it to a woman who was just monopolizing every second of my thoughts throughout the day. She was smart, she was funny, and when she spoke to me, it always made me feel like we were the only two people in the room. Of course, when you're in that state of mind, you start to play tricks on yourself and convince yourself that it HAS to be reciprocal. She was a very scholarly woman and loved all the arts and sciences and it was tough to research stuff to keep up with her, but I learned a lot about history and art and stuff like that. So it felt like she made me better even though we weren't together. I invited her to this really nice science museum because she was into that kind of stuff. It had this big beautiful planetarium and as we sat there in the dark with the lights out looking up at the dome sky, I caved and decided that I was going to go for it. Later that day outside of the planetarium, I confessed myself to her and told her that I thought she was amazing and wondered if there was any way we can take it a step further. Of course, she didn't feel the same way. But she seemingly didn't know what to say, even though it wasn't a rude reaction or anything. Things changed for a while after that and we spoke less. But eventually we went back to paling around about arts and nerdy crap. And she'd introduce me to shows and books. I was happy that things went back to "normal", whatever that was, but all it did was make it hurt more because I got to see her be this glowing example of the kind of woman that I wanted to represent. But knowing it'll never be felt hard because 1) I know I could never have her, and 2) I know that I can never find someone JUST like that. When she turned me down, I went home and felt sick for WEEKS. It was the same routine. I would get to my apartment after work, drop my bag, and just went and plopped straight into bed, put on my headphones and listen to music, and played catch with the ceiling with this rubber bouncy ball I used to have. Today we dont know each other any more. She went to work for a new company. I left the company too and then returned. We'd text from time to time and little by little it wained off. And now I get to live the rest of my life knowing that her and I existed in the same time period of creation, and that I was lucky enough to be born in the time sphere that she was. And I can't do a single thing about it but take that fact that it'll never happen.

I- I can’t even fathom how well it went for all these people. Like here I am at 20, 21 in a few weeks, and have never been in a relationship nor had that typically teenage “first love” type of experience. It’s sad when I think about it tbh bc I feel that’s something a lot of people enjoy about their teenage years. I feel as you get older, it’s easier for people to go on dates and relationships to work more easily whereas right now it’s so difficult and for what? All the games, hook uk culture, etc. I’ve had situationships sure, but more times than not I’ve had so many times people screwed me over to where I stopped. I focused on myself and bettered myself as a person, so I’m far more Independent and feel great being single. Just sucks seeing how easy it could be and me being worried I’ll be a 40 year old with no one.

It’s different. The older you get, the less crushes you have because you learn to pursue women who you’re interested in and not hide it which then develops into a crush. In my experience, I’m dating the woman before I develop feelings for her so it’s different. The excitement of a crush isn’t really there anymore. Last crush I had was when I was 26 (I’m 32 now). Sat next to a cute woman on a 15hr flight. Exchanged contact info, we went back and forth for a few weeks before our first date. By then I was already getting butterflies from just thinking about her. She ended up being a horrible person. She was soon to be engaged and lied to me. I had no idea I was the other guy and she ended up blocking and ghosting me to cover her tracks. My “first love” was crushing on my cousin’s wife’s younger sister. God she was beautiful. To this day, she’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in real life. She had feelings for me as well which is nuts because I’m like an 8 and this girl was honest to god the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. Unfortunately she had a bf and we were always surrounded by family so nothing ever happened. Plus we lived in different countries. Everyone knew though that we both really liked it each other. Looking back I wish I would have just kissed her. I had several chances, but I wussed out because I was scared she didn’t feel the same which sounds hilarious to me now because that girl had it bad for me. She even grabbed my dick once and I was still like “I’m not sure if she has feelings for me lmao”. Teenage guys are clueless morons I tell you, at least I was. I want to add that people are very inexperienced and immature in their early 20s and teenage years, that’s why it’s hard. Dating while older has its own challenges. You have less commonality with people around you because everyone takes different roads in life so naturally there’s a greater divergence in values, career, finances, family matters, etc.,. Just focus on you, a woman shouldn’t be a factor in your happiness. Focus on creating a life where you don’t need anybody to feel happy. Once you’re at that place, women will gravitate towards you. Pay close attention to a woman’s close friends. People are usually very similar to their close friends. For example, 2 of my first gf’s closest friends were cheaters. Big surprise, my gf cheated on me as well. Also, imo the most important quality in a partner is loyalty. I don’t mean in her just being faithful, but a ride or die type of loyalty. The type of loyalty you have with your family where you know no matter how mad you get at each other, you always have each other’s backs. Another extremely important character trait for a partner is selflessness. DO NOT DATE SELFISH WOMEN. Never ever. Selfish people are incapable of falling fully in love. I can prove this to you, but I don’t feel like typing more. If you date a selfish woman it will always be a one sided relationship. The more selfless a person is, the more in love they’re capable of being.
