5:23 I once heard a theory that put my brain into a proper knot... it said that every single person on earth that has ever lived is you. You just take turns to live through every life and you go through every scenario. So any time you're good to someone else, you are good to another version of you, going through another circumstance of you. This would mean, that any one of you who see this will make a conscious decision to not reply to yourself in another life. (Disclaimer: This is not my belief, but a thought practice. How each of us could end up in any situation given the circumstances and how every act of kindness could be felt... by "ourselves", therefor "be worth it"... Agreed. It's one of the most deeply sad songs I've ever heard. I think it's a song that most people can listen to and agree with but at the same time keep right on doing the things the song is condemning, like still hating other people including other people who themselves would agree with the song. And I'm not trying to accuse anyone here, the reason I see it that way is because I'm personally guilty of it right now as I type this. I want to live in the world Bo is imagining but if I did live in that world it couldn't be that world, you know? Just me being there would break it. Even realizing that, and though I do my best, I don't think I'll ever be worthy of such a world. But on the other hand, maybe if enough of us do what little we can to nudge it closer, someday that world really can exist for someone.

“From God’s Perspective” is completely bad-ass! I keep sharing it with my friends. So much good stuff to think about. This song is so deep. It really doesn’t matter whether there’s a God or whether God loves us or whether we deserve to be loved. Think whatever you want about that but it won’t change anything. The only thing that makes a difference is what we DO. If we run around raping each other (which happens in all sorts of direct and indirect ways) life will be hell. If we love each other it will be heaven. Who needs a thousand metaphors?

Another takeaway I got from when he says when you earn my love you won’t need it: how you were saying if we focused on loving others through the disagreements instead of trying to tear each other down for them(thereby earning his love), we would instead have groups of people who share love for one another, therefore making God’s love which they were fighting about for so long honestly irrelevant at that point because of how much love we hold for each other Ps love your break downs !

Bo is always fantastic, this song was so on point for me when I first heard it. So was your reaction. Would love to see you react to Tim Minchin too, if you like this musical type of comedy. Things like this are vey important, because even if you are the most convinced religious person, you have to occacionally analyze your own beliefs in order to see if they are reasonable. Pretty much every large Christian sect admits that the bible wasn’t written directly by God, and that it was both written and compiled, and translated by humans, so it would be weird if the bible, especially the version you read in your local language, is correct all of the time. It would also be weird if you specifically interpreted the texts as intended. And it would be especially strange if you were able to put all of these texts into the proper context, with the human bias of the specific author for that specific section of the bible categorized neatly in your brain. I’m not saying this to make you doubt your faith or anything, I’m saying it so that you may use your own brain to think and debate about right or wrong for a second, so that we don’t get led astray by misinterpretations and misconceptions about your religious text of choice.

Personally i am atheist. Do i try and disuade religious people against what they believe? No. I just try not to be an asshat if at possible.
