My man, you’ve taught me to be loose again with my inking. I’ve been sketching with ink like you do for the entirety of Inktober to experiment with how to make inking feel comfortable and fun. We’re halfway through November now and I can’t stop ink-sketching. It’s legit become hard for me to use my pencil now xD Thanks for inspiring me and showing me “da wae” (the way)

thanks for video! I love this particular sketchbook, nothing beats this one for me, it's relatively small, great quality, fits my purse :-) thanks for showing your process with shadows drawing, faces are still challenge for me so I learned something new from you today.

I love the idea of you using purple as the shadows. What tool did you use at 11:40 to dab in the white paint?
@SketchingScottie Жыл бұрын
Thanks! That is a small rag I used to wipe up a mess I made haha and then dabbed it back on the sketch to make some texture😊

Good video, as usual, one query; how did you isolate the 3 figures onto the one reference photo? I would maybe try Canvas's background remover on two of them and place it on a third photo alongside just one character, as you showed, but I don't know if that would work.
@SketchingScottie2 жыл бұрын
thanks Stewart! I did something similar to what you described but I used the new feature on iPhone where you can hold your finger on a photo and it can cut an object out and save it as a transparent png file. Then layered the two figures in photoshop on the third image and extended the background behind. I could have selected around the figures in photoshop but would have taken a lot longer.

Thanks for the reply: I'm an Android user so that particular back won't apply, but the concept of taking different elements from photos to compose an original is an idea I can run with, along with others on your channel as I take up urban sketching. Keep up the good work.

Hey Scottie! Question.. I'm a lefty and have trouble drawing profiles facing to the left. Any suggestions or exercises to do to remedy that problem? Thanks.
@SketchingScottie2 жыл бұрын
Hi! hmm that's a tricky problem! So you find drawing profiles facing right easier? It might be the order you draw each facial feature and the fact that your hand covers some of the drawing as you go so you can't see the proportions. So maybe reverse the order you draw for the left facing head. E.g. start at the back of the head and draw the silhouette and then eyes, nose and mouth last. Just a suggestion!👍🏼
@seniorpz19692 жыл бұрын
@@SketchingScottie hmm..never considered drawing a profile from the back of the head first..its like we were programmed from early age to always start with a face , then head, ect.....good idea, I'll try that. Thanks!

Hahaha no it’s not! But it does sound like it 😂 It’s because I made a big white blob on the page with the Posca pen and made a funny noise in frustration but cut it short and didn’t explain it. 😅

😂 That makes more sense. Burping on camera didn't really seem like your style.
