Millions of travelers cruise down Highway 120 each year to visit Yosemite, but hardly anyone stops by a town called Chinese Camp on the way. Chinese Camp is a gold mining town that once housed over 5000 Chinese miners during the Gold Rush, but once the gold mines depleted, the Chinese and other residents in Chinese Camp had to look for opportunities elsewhere. Prior visitors will tell you this town is now a haunted ghost town, but is it really? Join me as we explore Chinese Camp and see what's going on today!

The Tong war was in the Red Hills area east of the were you was standing (not in flat land). The white settlers watched from the hills More information can be found in the Columbia state park. You are right, My wife is Chinese. She has said in China Chinese always fight among themselves for thousands of years . Great video by the way . Good luck in your new adventures.

Another fun fact: the school has about 30 students and two classrooms its a pretty nice school I went there for four years because its grade 3-6

I have driven through Chinese Camp on more than a few occasions. For me, it was a place I would consider a Photographer's paradise. Some really pretty country and really nice back roads out that way.

That red brick building, with green iron shutters, was originally my great-great-grandfather's store. His name was Tinen McAdams.

I've been through there super interesting history area. Gold rush for sure Sonora established by Mexican immigrants, Jamestown was anglo Americans, and Chinese camp was settled by the Chinese all of them were segregated but they were hunting for gold for sure.
