truth. I tried losing a bit of weight (eating more fish, chicken, eggs; very little cheese or bread or peanut butter) and would get tired all the time. So tired matter a fact that I didn't even feel like eating despite being hungry.

Yea, I cook food at home too. It's just cheaper. 1kg of chicken (already butchered) is about Rp 23000-35000 (2-3 USD). Add the cost of seasonings, flour, vegetable oil... maybe around Rp 30000-40000 (3-4 USD) with some leftovers. Compare this to eat out, 1 piece of decent fried chicken is Rp 7000-15000 (0,5-1 USD).

They didn't do reintroduction, which kind of defeats the purpose of the Whole30 - when you bring all the foods back at once you have no way of knowing what the culprit is if it affects your body in a particular way. Going through the 30 days and skipping reintroduction is a waste.
@sparkleztheklown

Totally. They skipped all the actual education about food that comes with whole30 that is a big motivation to not cheat during. Plus they just binged after the 30 days which is the complete opposite of the entire plan. Just a waste of a video.
@kalventure

Soulless Raven But they didn't kick it to the curb, they went back to eating like they were before the Whole30 and they felt like crap. That could have been avoided if they had followed the program as intended.

@JazzieJelly
@JazzieJelly 6 жыл бұрын
To me what makes it worse is that none of them really seemed to understand the true medical intentions of the diet, my dietitian put me on an exclusion diet for 2 weeks due to health issues and told me that it's purely being done to help figure out what food/s make me ill... From my experience I don't think diets like this should be done 'just because' since you do lose a fair amount of weight and it can be bad for your health to just drop weight quickly. Also the comment on feeling crap after is exactly why they put in a reintroduction programme for the diet since your body gets used to not having all the processed crap in it so it's a shock to the system and your body doesn't know how to react to it properly.

Whole 30 is not actually meant to be a diet your supposed to slowly reintroduce certain foods after 30 days to see what is negatively affecting your body. In fact creators of the program specifically say its not meant to be a diet just in case anyone is wondering.

For me it was seeing that sugar was in EVERYTHING. I think the issue with Whole30 in the beginning is kicking the sugar. Annd you guys did it wrong lol...you're supposed to reintroduce foods slowly and by item and not at the same time to see how they react to your body. The whole point of Whole30 is to reduce inflammation...that's why they cut out the food items they do, they are generally the most likely to cause digestion and inflammation.

@pheov.5619
@pheov.5619 6 жыл бұрын
They never said no natural sugar. They said real sugar, as in the sugar you would use in baking. Therefore fruits are allowed. The main problem with white potatoes, as the Whole30 team saw it, was less about what potatoes are than about the way potatoes are so often served - namely, in the form of chips and french fries. So you can still enjoy your potatoes, but not in the fatty ways they are usually served.

Are you sure you ate enough? I personally lost 20 Pounds my first round, but I was intentionally working out intensely and counting calories. The other times I’ve only lost like 3-5 pounds. No shade, just curious. It’s super important to eat enough, and it’s sometimes more food than you think. I know I would eat like 5 different veggies for lunch and be in a calorie deficit and I was struggling to finish my meals Bc it was so nutrient dense especially at the beginning.

yes. i agree. it's good people are waking up. i used to be so very addicted to sugar. candy, chocolate, ice cream. was so bad that i really felt it was an addiction. i googled how to kick it, i bought a sugar free cook book, i cleansed, i tried many things.... eventually the only thing that fixed my addiction was going vegan. even tho my transition took a year, and some things were easy to stop craving and others were more difficult, that was the best decision i ever made. i believe that having others outside yourself as a reason for getting rid of bad foods is more of a motivation than just answering to yourself

Well done guys so inspirational! Yeah crazy hard when it's so easy to just go and grab something unhealthy and no one stops us or questions us. watching these videos make me glad that I grew up in a strict Chinese household. My mum never allow us to buy and have packaged food/canned good/snacks/soda at home growing up. And as a typical Chinese family, my mum will visit the wet market for fresh ingredients everyday and cook for us everyday. I am so glad that I never have much cravings to struggle. Even though I am an adult now, and I can totally buy my own grocery, I still feel kinda “bad” or “guilty” if I bring cookies/ice cream home? Can someone out there relate to this lol?

I feel like one of the reasons it’s so hard for normal, everyday Americans do these challenges is because we’ve become so accustomed to the lifestyle of where it’s easy to be unhealthy and get fast foods, chips, and candy in the convenience store down the block. I think this is why we have a high obese rate unlike Asia. In Asia, you don’t walk into a 7-11 and immediately see sweet snacks. You see actual food (that might be frozen). You see food chain stores but you see even more healthy, authentic restaurants. In Asia, it’s easier to make a healthy choice.

Does anyone else get really annoyed by these videos where people try a new diet and complain about everything the whole time? Like, you’re eating healthy, you’re fueling your body efficiently, you can afford to do so, you live in a community where it is accepted, and there are a lot of options available..... why do you have to complain about not having pizza and donuts? The reason none of these diets work out for these people in the long run is because they are so pessimistic about it.

Lucy Lester the point of a whole thirty is that it eliminates several common food allergens (soy, dairy, peanuts) and refocuses on vegetables and fruits instead of grains. They skipped the most important part of a whole thirty: reintroducing the restricted foods slowly so you can identify what makes you feel so blah all the time. You aren't meant to stay on it forever and many people keep at least some grains after they reintroduce them. I have ibs and testing with straight lactose had shown that in theory I'm fine with dairy. Whole30 showed me that in reality, I just can't drink milk.

I did whole 30. Loved the salmon cucumber dill recipe, found some different ways to cook things, etc. However, I didn't find it was cheaper at all. Produce can be quite expensive, and my grocery bill went way up. Also, I found I spent so much of my day cooking food. I was glad it was a 30 day challenge, because the whole thing was really not sustainable. I did learn a little along the way. It really sucked for unavoidable food related events, such as a wedding, etc., and the only thing you can eat is the salad, no dressing 😒

it's funny because I stopped eating refined sugar 6 months ago and after less than one week I was like '' cured '' form sugar. I didn't want to eat sugar anymore, or very rarely. My tongue also became a '' sugar detector '' and I was able to detect all the sugar in food that I would't taste before. After 6 months my body feels great and except for rare occasions, I don't eat sugar anymore. I eat a lot of fruits but you know, it's natural sugar. Also limited my carbs consumption and I drink a least 2 water liter everyday :)

Hi ! well, i never ate a lot of sugar so it was pretty easy for me. I also stopped drinking sodas 8 years ago, when I was 15 yo. I spoke with my brother who knows a lot about diet and he told me, among other things, that nowadays we all eat too much sugar (if you read the food composition on what you buy you'll see! sugar is everywhere, it's crazy). I'm not a professional, but maybe if you want to reduce your sugar consumption, try to reduce little things step by step. 2 cookies not 4, black chocolate instead of milk one. Drink water or fresh juice (not fruit juice from store, they are full of sugar). You have to find what fits you! I allow myself sometimes some cookies just because i want to! you should never deprive yourself from food you want. I really think that balance is the key. Being frustrated about our diet is the best way to eat wrong. What helped me when i started, was not having some temptation at home. I knew that if I had a box of cookies, I would eat it in once. So maybe try to remplace your '' temptation food '' with fruits or less sugar alternatives! I hope I helped you a little bit! take care and don't forget to drink enough water, its essential for your body health :)

The Whole30 diet actually tells your body that it doesn't need dairy, sugar or gluten anymore, so it tells the body to stop producing the enzymes that help break those foods down.. my mom did this diet and she now has an intolerance to gluten, and slight intolerances to sugar and dairy. She gets headaches when she eats sugar. (My sister's college nutrition class taught her this)

Well, with whole30 you still eat sugar (fruits) so your statement is not true. Body do not stop producing anything entirely just after 30 days. This sort of diet is healthy for you, because your body naturally do not need milk or fake sugars at all. As an European (and with a few intolerances (dairy, gluten, citrus etc.)) I eat similarly every day, and my partner does as well, although he can eat everything. His health, blood and energy levels increased due to healthy diet, and ditching sugars and dairy or gluten, will definitely not make you worse.

TOO. MANY. EGGS Edit: thanks for the likes and comments. I simply meant that people doing the whole thirty just get sick of eating eggs all the time, not that it’s unhealthy in any way. Eggs are very healthy.

So dairy isn't allowed, but they made ghee from butter? Butter is a dairy product right? Am I missing something?

utensil09 Ghee is clarified butter. The "milk solids" of the butter is removed, leaving just fat. So it's shelf stable, and technically isn't dairy.

I make my own ghee from butter all the time and it's not a dairy product once you pull out the milk solids. Milk = Dairy...No Milk = No Dairy.

MissTigger357 There's no such thing as plant based butter. Vegan butter is just canola and soybean oil. It's healthier to eat real butter. Vegetable and soybean oil cause inflammation
