1. Certain levels of stress are good. They teach you how to cope, they teach you how to problem solve, they teach you how to fail and then to do better the next time. 2. I am ___(put the labels you think puts you in a disadvantageous position). No one’s going to like me. If you put labels on yourself, you are putting yourself at a disadvantage. 3. You just perform. In areas, you are weak, perform. Earn your place. 4. If after you perform, people still have an issue with you, know that you are not the problem, they are. 5. Focus on putting one foot forward the other. Think about the next thing you are going to do. If I am not performing. And I’m there waiting for people to accept me, then now it’s me. 6. It’s 50% you and 50% the other person. 7. Respect is a gift. If someone wants to give it to you, they will, if they don't they don't. 8. Don't tell people you are the authority. Show them. Don't demand respect, command respect. Show you are the in charge by how do you walk into a room, how do you carry yourself, how do you speak, how do you project your voice. All those things exude power, and all those things command respect. 9. People make your impression in first five seconds. Think about what you are exuding, how you are dressed, think about the audience. You are going to wear one outfit for something and a different outfit for something else. 10. There are different versions of us. There is no just one you. What version of you are you bringing to the table? 11. Your goal shouldn’t be to make someone like or fear you. What is the end result you want? Likability is important. 12. Competent and warm not competent and cold. 13. No one is 100% bad. 14. Don't make it personal. Focus on the end result. 15. When things happen to you, rather than completely losing your mind, take a minute, don't respond, and don't do anything. Introduce a disrupter such as time or movement. 16. If you feel threatened in a situation, listen to your gut. Don't worry: about making the other person feel that you are rude. 17. Embrace and not avoid confrontation. Also, you should be able to confront people about things you don't feel right about in your life. Don't sit there and swallow it. 18. Mirror the other person’s language. If they say hi, say hi, if they say hello, say hello. Connect. But dint fake it. 19. Get in the right mindset and then decide how you want to speak to the other person. 20. 80% listen, 20% talk. 21. Talk to people not the way you want to be spoken to but the way they want to be spoken to. 22. You are not going to own my response to you. I am going to own it. 23. You have to create those barriers for yourself. You have to self-assess who you are going to let in your inner circle. Select the people in your inner circle. 24. People should audition to be in your inner circle. 25. Don't embarrass people but don't hesitate from confronting them. 26. There should be standards that you create for yourself. You get what you tolerate. 27. When you make a conscious decision to be done with someone, be done with them. 28. It should be about your mental conviction. Speak with confidence to make sure those who heard your message heard it clearly the first time. It should not be mistaken for weak or uncertain of your abilities. 29. Strengthen your voice and believe in what you are saying and why are you saying that. 30. The more adversity you deal with, the more resilient you become. 31. Repetition, repetition. Create habits that are healthy so when things happen, you default to those habits and pull out that version of you. 32. There are two types of people you should be careful of: people who are extremely self-righteous and people who use justification. 33. Look at people holistically who are they with everybody because that’s going to come back to you. 34. You feel dirty with someone be aware of them. 35. Don't get energy from the outside things such as your job, your family etc. Give your energy to those things but be mindful of how much of your energy you put out there into things. 36. Don't be surprised. Everybody at the end of the day is looking after their self-interests. 37. Don't be a victim. 38. Indecisiveness is a very dangerous thing. Indecisiveness causes us to look to others to give us the advice, it causes us to not make decisions in life, indecisiveness keeps us paralyzed, and indecisiveness is bad for our self-esteem and our confidence. I am going to do this right or wrong I am doing this. 39. You don't become this person overnight. It’s work. It’s a lot of work. 40. This person has an emergency. It’s their emergency. It’s not mine. 41. Choose to make it a lesson. 42. Remember you do not know everything. 43. “I messed up. So what? Everyone does.” 44. Have some humility. 45. Establish yourself as an authority from the moment “go”. 46. Think of your words as “money”. The more powerful and impactful the words, the more money you are putting down. My words matter and they have weight. They are going to impact the other person positively or negatively and their connection with me. 47. Don't stand behind the podium when you teach. 48. Be prepared, wear the right outfit, and do your hair and makeup in way that make you feel confident. 49. Own your shit. Be responsible for yourself even if the person sitting across you is authority. 50. If you are constantly being victimized by people, ask yourself: what am I doing to let people think they can do this to me. 51. Realize that you have choices. Fight back, speak back, or walk away. 52. Realize you have power. You can choose to not stay there in victim mentality. You can get back up. Watched all three of her videos and put it on all three. This is of so much value.

My mentor was a homicide detective and he always told me to trust my gut “feeling” bc that’s just my brain processing information so quickly that it feels like “intuition” even though it’s usually not
@msc83824 жыл бұрын
Hi, I've been studying personality for quite some years now. Not officially though. Despite that, I can tell you that current research supports this as a possible real thing. You can look at Jungian Psychology. Other than that I have similar experiences. And I tell you, if you use that 'feeling' combined with "intuition" its like you have accelerated access to more distanced relations between information. Unfortunately, it also takes more wisdom to manage as it brings more insecurity. (In the beginning those combined skills will fail to synergize and contradict each other instead. Just keep going you'll get better at it as you go. ) Wise mentor to realise and correlate.
@christinebeers31524 жыл бұрын
The other interesting aspect of this idea is that people who grew up in abusive household were forced to learn to “read people” as a survival mechanism. A that skill grows... sometimes it becomes a “human lie detector” type of skill.

@KelleyBroussardMackaig4 жыл бұрын
I know exactly what you mean... It is absolutely absurd the way we as women are willing to risk our own safety for the sake of possibly offending someone. Unfortunately I have been guilty of this so many times, but I've learned to get better the older I get. Some times our God-given "spidey-senses" might be off skew a bit, but 9 times out of 10 they're pretty dead on accurate. We mustn't be afraid of offending someone who is giving us an "off feeling" about them. The worst thing that can happen is that we were wrong and we'll need to apologize - but at least we will be alive and unharmed to do so.

I mean if some guy I don't like is talking to me I look another way and appear genuinely distracted but if he approaches me in a threatening manner and he's just bigger than me I'm not about to be stupid n think being mouthy is enough....because it may only be enough to get your bell rung like an idiot🤷♀️ I start moving and looking for exit strategies not ways to act stupidly big n bad *ss when I'm just not.

Notice how her character changed when she talked about failure being her superpower? That was her emotional side breaking out. The way she looked down and smiled is what we do when we're remembering something specific. She's probably remembering a time of her life which she failed so hard it forced her to wake up. She's grateful for the experience of that event because it fortified her. We must look at all our failures this way.

This is complete validation! lol I'm a therapist and I teach these principles to my adolescents and teens in middle school ("Know Your Audience" so they can anticipate reactions; "Use your intuition" for protection from dangers in life and not silence it; "Disagree Tactfully" so you can have a conversation of differing opinions and not an argument, listen to LEARN not to ARGUE and be RIGHT because they may give information that triggers a shift for you.) YES!! Reframing is also a therapeutic technique I teach parents (You can yell all their flaws at them or you can acknowledge their mistake and talk to them about how and why to make a different choice)

It’s so great that you are teaching teens to listen to that inner voice or ‘gut’ or intuition! It is a valuable life skill that can be life saving. Additionally, to not be afraid to act on that feeling - meaning don’t be afraid to look crazy for a moment. For example, when I was about 17 I had to walk home after work at a fast food restaurant. We lived in a very, very rough area, but we were very poor and I had two after school and weekend jobs. So I took whatever shifts were offered. One night I helped close and started walking home at 11pm. Suddenly I realized three guys following me and cat calling. Then I noticed they were closing the distance between us. It felt like a pack of wolves getting closer. Just as they got within 10 feet of me I notice two adult young men about 20 feet ahead. I had never see them before, but called out, ‘hey guys wait up! You are supposed to be walking me home!’ with a cheery voice. They turned around surprised and laughed as I started jogging towards them. They had stopped to watch this strange teenager in her silly uniform coming towards them. The wolf pack stopped and then turned a corner. I never made it to the two young men, as they laughed again and went on their way. Yet, I am sure that I saved myself from being harmed that night. That was the first time I trusted my gut and took action. I wish I had done that when I was younger, as it may have saved me from being raped across the street from the apartments where we lived - in broad daylight.

Notes: 1) Moving chair 2) Don't tell people you are the boss 3) Knowing your audiences and adjust to them. We have different versions of us depending on our audience 4) Look does matter. Esp for those people who don't know us. They make 1st impression of us within 5 seconds and it is hardly reversible if it is negative 5) Assess our goal, and communicate to get to the goal 6) Goal is not for people to like or fear us. Instead, we can accomplish if we are competent and WARM. Not cold 7) Pull out the good quality in people, then only they will highly co-operate 8) Don't take it personally when people lie to us. Don't say that people lie to me coz I am xxxxx.. Instead they lie coz of their ownself. They might want to protect themselves,etc. 9) Walk away from situation that make us angry. Don't react. Don't be repulsive. Wait for 24 hour. Don't send that email or text until 24 hours. Introduce a disruptor. Go somewhere else. Do something else. Do something to distract fron continue thinking about that situation 10) Follow your gut feeling! 11) Do not avoid confrontation. Embrace it. "I hear you. I disagree with you and here's why.." let them scream, let them become a fool, we just sit on our chair. SOMEONE IS YELLING AT ME, SO WHAT?? SOMEONE IS CONFRONTING ME, SO WHAT? Think like that 12) In the confrontation process, don't yell at people at talk to them like they are garbage. Avoid calling people rape, liar.. Instead ask, hey, did u hurt her? Did you take that money? 13) Listen to people. 80q listen, 20q talk 14) Do not make assumption or else we will fall in Confirmation Bias. We only listen to what we want and turn it to be something we have assumed earlier. 15) How to know if someone is lying? Body language, looking at they eye or not, omission (leaving out some info), stalling technique (asking back question). Observe the language they tend to use: often will leave out the 'i' in conversation due to lack of commitment, are they detailed or vague, liars are vague

Melvin Lombard They also distant themselves, speak from a 3rd person perspective and sometimes offer way too much info and seemingly just ramble on (when details are completely unnecessary). For example: Q = Did you eat? A = Pizza, thin crust with pepperoni, extra cheese and a robust sauce. It took a long long long time to get they were super busy, but the waitress a girl named Jessica, was really friendly and apologized for the wait. Did I mention it was thin crust? It was incredibly delicious, we really should go there together sometime. I can’t remember the name of the place, but it was pretty good... and not really that busy. So how was your day? (Notice the over the top response and inconsistencies)
@Santiago_Apollo4 жыл бұрын
@@GhostSal I completely agree, they projectile vomit information that's not relevant, they have no conscience of what's right or wrong, they just go on and on... like I've officially had it with these people. Parents and family sometimes believe they have a free pass for twisting the facts to suit their narrative. I can still tolerate people who lie casually because it's clearly got to do with themselves and their reality, but people who lie to cause malicious damage to someone's character are trash, they are so far detached from reality that they lie so skillfully and convincingly. As they carry on with their deceitfulness you can see their minds working, the incessant talking, vagueness of whatever BS they are concocting as they go along, unoriginal and usually a projection or regurgitation of their own insecurities, twisting the true version of events. I mean if you're going to lie, atleast make it original, and don't you dare point them out a contradictory statement made previously, they'll tell you you're the lier. Yes yes yes fantastic interview! Women in general are taught to be "nice", not to come off as rude or cause any commotions. We're more worried over what some stranger might think, someone that we've never met before and will probably never see again, then trusting our own intuition.

YES I was followed at Night By a man, instead of Running away which was my instinct I walked. He suddenly attacked me. Luckily he didn’t get to rape me because I screamed and neighbors opened their windows so he run away.

She is... AND she has the square jaw, protruding brow bones of a male. I feel pretty sure by the skull shape that "she" started life as a "he". Notice how the interviewer has a sloped jaw, smaller brow bones, and less deeply set eyes. A true female has the skull shape of the interviewer. I don't care what gender someone wants to present but I feel sorry for real females comparing themselves to impossible to copy beauty ideals. Also gross to see men lusting after these guys dressed as women. If men still want these people after knowing the truth, that's fine. Just so many deceivers in this world and the deception grosses me out.

I agree so much on the confrontation part. I learned this by working as a nurse on a Psychiatric unit. You let patients vent, that's energy. Once the patient is calm, you can speak openly and as far as my experience works with 90% of the patients and it avoids unnecessary restrictions/use of medication and provides a space to rapport-empathize with the person. I love my job. 😊

This woman has given me a 30 year life lesson in this 52 minute 5 second video. This is the definition of street smart (Harlem) and book smart combined in one. Her eye contact is captivating::.and she’s beautiful too. This the new definition of Triple Threat! I for sure underestimated her when I clicked on this video.

As a midshipman at the naval academy I love seeing the parallels between her training and the training in the military. Putting people under stress in controlled environments, making them get comfortable being uncomfortable, and developing mental resilience are all things the training shares. She is amazing and spot on about being a woman in a male dominated field! You simply perform and let your actions speak for you

but women shouldn’t have to do that. they should just be accepted already, period.
