When I was about 10 years old, we lived on a hill that would ice up every winter, but as my Dad was a doctor, the county kept it pretty clear. One night however, he got called in for an emergency, icy rain had caused a bad accident, so Dad had my climb in the back of the pick up, and shovel sand on the road as he backed slowly down the hill. It worked, and I got special treatment from the nurses at the hospital, treats, a warm bath, and a bed with breakfast served in the morning. I was in heaven.
